I recently purchased from Insane Galvatron two dyed custom LOCS: Sunstorm and Thundercracker, both made from an LOC Starscream. I have two before pictures of the Sunstorm. I painted the arms, upper legs, waist, feet, weapons, and the tail fins all white like the G1 Sunstorm, and then added a white paint ap to the shins, as well as adding silver and gold highlights to the tailfins, silver highlights to the weapons, and painting the two cockpit guns and the engines silver. On Thundercracker, I only have painted the guns silver, which is why I didnt' do a before picture for him too.

In the pictures, it looks like there's chipped paint in the silver highlights on the weapons of Sunstorm, but there aren't, its merely reflecting lights that make it seem that way. This was all done with paint pens, and is my first time at altering any toy of any kind.

Man, I wish I could take pics that good of them. Bad lighting and a cheap camera don't help matters much. Who knows, I might have sold a few more of them.

I should try that with mine, the white looks great. If you have an reprolabels, you might try slapping a decepticon sticker over the one that's on there. I did that with my Skywarp (since it didn't have one) and it looks great.

I have seriously thought about doing that! wouldn't hurt to have them on the wings as well, seeing as how the G1s had them both on the wings and the nosecone...

PS... IG, feel free to use those pictures to help sell more of them, 'mano! you did an excellent dye job.

if you're talking about the factory paint aplications, then oh yeah. Its SLIGHTLY darker in color (on Thundercracker its a shade of red-purple now) but its still got its metallic traits! :)  As far as the paint that I added for Sunstorm, it holds up great except where the ball joints for the upper legs are, when you transform it to jet mode, it rubs a little bit. As for the dye process, Insane Galvatron did that part, he'll have to tell ya, but what I DO know is that his method works great, but you will mess up a few before you get it right, either from melting (leaving them in the boiling dye) or from not getting the color shades you were hoping for. The awesome thing is its IN the plastic so it won't wear off!
