    Cool, but they didn't show that much of the squid. We're getting closer to seeing one of the big ones alive.

    I love love love cephalopods, so this is an absolute joy. However, the footage itself is disappointing. Could just as easily be a carcass getting dragged by a boat.

    in the water, it didn't look THAT big, maybe 8 feet or so, but it sure looked a lot bigger in the box. but then they said the biggest ever was 18 METERS!?!?!?!?! that's like, what, 55 feet? daaaaauuuuum!

    I saw this in CNN, they can get up to 60ft long. They best be nice to the squid or they will come back and eat their boat!

    Yeah, I watched a documentary on them before but for years the researchers couldn't capture a live one.m The researchers on the shows were always wondering how big they could grow and if I remember correctly, some whales (which eat the squids) had er, some pretty big scars from the fights...
