Opens today so discuss amongst yourselves. I probably won't see it until tommorrow, but this one blurb from rotten tomatoes gives me hope... "Live Free or Die Hard has more explosive action than the first three combined. Of course, the first three were more situational, but it's not a bad thing to go bigger. It doesn't feel like they ran out of ideas. On the contrary, because they push it so hard, Live Free or Die Hard has action so inventive I've never seen anything like it before." and "For all the talk of the PG-13, there is more carnage in this movie than in any R-rated film I can remember. Really, PG-13 is the new R. They play a sound effect over the MF but you know what he's saying. He still calls people names like jerk-off." http://www.canmag.com/nw/8151-live-free-die-hard-review Is there hope?
As is typical, it depends on who you believe. 78% positive thus far. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/live_free_or_die_hard/ http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=reviews&id=10860 http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=reviews&id=10815 http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movies/06/26/review.livefreeordiehard.ap/index.html I'm stoked for Ratatouille myself. 100% positive thus far. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ratatouille/ *edit* Re: the Pg-13 vs R rating, this is an interesting read. I can't wait to see it. Big fan of the Die-Hard films. Won't see it on the opening night though, I'll wait a few days before I go and see it.
I saw an extended preview on tv that made me put down the new Optimus that I was transforming... It was the scene in the truck and the Jet is shooting at him...It was pretty killer. Could be worth it.
I saw a preview showing last night. 2 Thumbs way up. I don't know if I'd agree that it's the best Die Hard ever, but I definitely enjoyed it, and, again, it's got all the good McLane stuff, but it also points out some REAL threat issues while doing it. Thuroughly pleased.
I'll see it, but I don't know when. Transformers is dominating my life right now with a possible opening this Saturday for me seeing it.
I just came from seeing it and I have to say that it rivals the first in being the best in the series.
I went in without any expectations of this movie and I can say without a doubt it rocked. Tons of awesomeness all around. The big thing I noticed about it being PG-13 was the lack of blood, but its not really missed. Check this movie out, its well worth it and a great addition to the franchise.
Just saw it and I fucking loved it. They threw in an explosion within the first few minutes, haha. Very enjoyable film. PG-13 rating does not hurt it, there's still plenty of action and McClane kicking ass
On a somewhat shallow note might I add there's a bit of eye candy for the mens to enjoy as well. I'm not the type to care a whole lot about that, but it is worth noting ^__________________________^
Die Hard is kind of to my father what TF:TM is to me. I won't see it this weekend due to BotCon, but I'll definitely catch it next week on a father-son outing. I know it's PG-13, and I know it seems like it could be any action movie without the 'siege' element, but I love McClane and I think it'll be fun. And that's all I really expect for my $10.
I'll probably go and see it, if only because the DIE HARD franchise is the only movie series I've seen at the cinema in it's entirity and I want to maintain that record! Still think the trailer looked a little too cartoony though - I like the first one so much precisely because it's routed in a kind-of-realism. Scenes of duelling with jet fighters and helicopters seems more at home in something like TRANSFORMERS.
Man, I just saw the movie last night, I lost some sleep over it but I'm glad I watched it. What sucks though is that every time I see a movie I really like I have no idea what to say about it. My friends are like "Hows the movie" and all I say is "It's awsome" but cant elaborate.
I hate those situations because I'm usually easy on movies, I'm not terribly hard to please, I can just sit and enjoy and not over analyze and pick at everything, but others seem to always find something wrong, some reason not to like it. I've been with the kind of assholes that will look down on you for liking the movie when they didn't you know. Screw em though.
I think that it's better than Die Hard 3 though. Now don't get me wrong, I liked DH 3 as well, I just think #4 is better
