Imagine you could do a live-action Transformers TV series, what would it be about, who would you cast, and who would you wan't to develop the show? But here's the thing, it can't be related to the movies in any way whatsoever.

Okay, how many threads do you need to start about this topic? We know you totally want a live action TV series, but this is getting redundant.

EIGHT! EIGHT pointless discussions, ah ah ah!

But seriously? I wouldn't want a live action show. There'd be no feasible way to do it and have it turn out well, that I can think of.

It'd have to be an hour long show, and it'd have more humans than Bots because of budget constraints. That, and it'd more than likely ape the movies but with worse CG, and I'm quite frankly ready for the Bayverse to die a horrible death.

Well, the way I see it, it would have to be like the movies in terms of a major cast of human characters, and budget and technical limitations would skew things even farther away from the Transformers. It also means the effects probably wouldn't be as good, and due to scheduling / making an entire season per year as opposed to one film every couple of years, that things would be more rushed. I am of the mind that all of these limitations would also result in much weaker stories compared to an animated series, which can show pretty much whatever it needs to.

There's also the issue of demographics, since the brand media is essentially made to sell toys, would the show be aimed at a younger audience than the movies? Would that result in what is essentially a Disney Channel show with Transformers?

Pessimistic or not, there's a lot I can see that could go wrong.

Okay, this is getting REALLY old...

I looked into your previously posted thread list, and almost half of all threads you've ever started end up being about your idea for a live action TF TV show. But NONE of them are locked. Simply because one thread doesn't generate a whole lot of dicussion is NO reason to go and create a duplicate thread about the exact same thing and hope for more.

Seriously, just lay off with the Live action TV idea threads for a while. They're getting annoying.

I would make a show about Sixshot trying to make it big in New York as a ninja consultant. Oh the laughs that could be had!

Agreed, there's not enough $$ in television to do it right, so I'll stick with the cartoon

Ok, I take back my previous post, THIS I would want to see. They'd have to have his voice sound like it did in the dubbed Japanese shows. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, it sounded like has hand was over his mouth every time he spoke and he always say ideaR instead of "idea"

A live-action Transformers TV series would be like Team Knight Rider, so without the robot modes. Just pretend they're all stuck in alt mode and freeing them is the mission for the series. Then in the last scene of the final episode where they've succeeded show them start to transform (full CGI models for transformations and robots modes would be too costly). Just assume they fully transform. Then cut to black and end credits.

    Horrible. :p

For kids, maybe, though it might have stiff competition these days from places like the Disney Channel.

Do you think that the sentai format would apply well to Transformers? I liked Masterforce, but a lot of fans took issue with it not being robo-centric, and I think it would be even more so if they took

That would probably work "better", but it I think that there could still be a lot of problems in terms of placement. It might not fly on a major network (most other "license" based shows have either died shortly or lived on cable networks), and if that's the case it might not have enough of a budget to really shine.

It wouldn't be CGI I can tell you that. Think Sentai/PR. Guys in robot costumes. Rarely on the screen the same time as the humans because they'd have to alter them to scale. Maybe one CGI transformation that'd be used as stock footage for the whole show.

    That's what we'd get.
