In Takaratomy's TF G1 timeline, it includes the live action movie. I'm curious to know how they explain how it fits in? They also have the Robots In Disguise (Car Robots) series included.

    Ah, those wacky Japanese.

JK, they include EVERYTHING in their timeline, even if it makes no sense.

Doesn't Gundam include everything in their timeline as well?

It's got a timeline with images of what happens in each major year, and for 2007 it's got an image of one of the advertisment images for the live action movie (the one with a giant robot eye behind the earth). I'd just really like to know what explanation they give (if any) for how it fits in.

Megan Fox's cleavage shatters time-space continuity, enabling both G1 and the Movieverse to exist as truth in reality.

    Um, no.

    No, no, no.

Here is the REAL timeline for Transformers the movie. Spike gets drunk. Does some heavy, heavy drugs. He goes to sleep. Has a silly, stupid over the top nightmare about what would happen if Micheal Bay got to keep his career after Pearl Harbor.

    He wakes up.

And that's about where these movies fit in.

From what I know, the movie was heavily praised in Japan (unlike in the US + Canada, where some people just didn't like it).

Could just be fan service of some sort.

This timeline thing comes from Takara's The World of the Transformers website, which was created in 2007 to introduce the a Japanese audience to the concept of Transformers, including explanations of how they are living alien robots, their sparks, how they transform ect.

It was unusual in that it incorporated parts of the American Hasbro continuity, such as The Thirteen.

Unfortunately, when it came to charting out their continuity, G1 was basically "everything except the Unicron Trilogy", including Car Robots and the 2007 movie. Of amusement to sane Western TF fans is the fact TakaraTomy's Micron Trilogy (Unicron Trilogy) timeline placed Galaxy Force in the same continuity as Micron Densetsu (Armada) and Superlink (Energon), thus making the effort to pretend that the cartoon had nothing to do with Armada a complete waste of time.

Oh, and it made certain western Galaxy Force fans look really stupid for arguing so fiercely back in 2005-2006 that Hasbro "ruined" Cybertron by placing it into Armada's continuity, thus ruining Japanese intent (regardless of the fact the show was originally developed as the continuing adventures of the Armada-Energon characters).

I just can't see how you'd string it all together.

You've got things like the movie era where the Decepticons were just down right pathetic getting their butts handed to them by the humans and when they get damaged they just die. Then you jump to Animated and the humans can't do anything to scratch the Decepticons while it takes a whole team of Autobots to even have a shot at taking down one of the 'cons.

Do you tie it together by having some Decepticons sitting around talking about how they weren't able to fight their way out of a wet paper bag but now they kick the butt of everything in the galaxy. Or talking about how silly they feel now for having their scrap metal look era like we'd talk about our 80's posh, grunge, or goth era looks?

I know they found a way to explain Car Robots' appearance in the G1 timeline, I'd just like to know how they explain the live action movie being there. What I really need is a translation of the timeline.
