I reckon it'l be as good as the Attack on Titan films. As in, it wont be good at all. I'm sure the Al costume looks sweet though.
Live-Action Fullmetal Alchemist Stakes Out December 2017 Release Directed by Fumihiko Sori, the adaptation ages Edward from 15 years old to 20, and tells the manga’s story in a single film.
Looks appropriately atmospheric for a promo shot. Alphonse looks just like he's supposed to. I personally don't mind if they age up Edward a bit. The idea that a 15 year old would enter a prestigious military academy and attain the rank of State Alchemist (who start off as the equivalent of an O-4/Major) is just one of those dumb anime tropes that I can do without (where kids are badass experienced soldiers and/or piloting mecha like they're pros, etc.). But a 20-year old young adult? That's more plausible to me.
That's what I don't understand either. In mangas and anime the characters are often portrayed as European looking and when they make the live action, every one suddenly has black hair and looks Japanese. So, why do they portray themselves European looking in first place and why don't they stick to it then? The more I think about it, the dizzier I get
See Hollywood? You don't need drastic design changes for every live action adaptation you make. In all seriousness, Al looks amazing and looks exactly how he should look like.
It's like the cgi got all the budget and hair and makeup got nothing because Eds wig looks awful. This is going to all come down to this whole thing of telling the whole manga story in one movie.
