Has anyone seen A Scanner Darkly? Was it a good adaptation?

Some things are better left animated. Why do we have to remake every thing?

I'd love another Cowboy Bebop animated movie, but this.....

Man it'll be hard to keep an open mind about this one. This keeps going through my head:

I'm not automatically against this, but I have two major concerns:

    1. They're either going to have to drop Ed completely or change the character so much that she isn't Ed anymore. I can't see Ed working in live action as-is.

    2. The soundtrack HAS to be Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts. Their music was a big part of what made Bebop great (which is why none of the mangas ever clicked with me).

Someone watched this show as a child?

Anyway, I think it is a stupid idea.

This. I flat out refuse to see it if they dont get Yoko Kanno for the score. I listen to the bebeop OSTs at work all the time.

And to Karamazov, the show is 10 years old so i guess it's possible.

sigh.....Needless to say I won't be holding any hope for this one. The anime was so awesome, Hollywood should find some other series to basterdize and leave Bebop alone. That and come up with some original ideas for a change.

Another friggin live action adaptation of a cartoon?

Ugh, next thing you know, Hollywood will make a live action Thundercats movie and rape the shit out of it, too.

It makes a bit of sense to take a successful children's cartoon to try and make an adult film franchise with it the idea is solid, like TF or GI Joe or even Sooby Doo.

Taking something that is ostensibly already a young adult and above cartoon mystifies me a bit. Oh well, the worst it can do is fail and drive otherwise normal people into watching Anime.

Just to give this the benefit of the doubt, who would you like to see cast in this? Here's who I would like to see:

    Spike - Brad Pitt
    Faye - Angelina Jolie
    Jet - Vin Diesel
    Ed - Dakota Fanning

I don't know if any of them could pull it off though. It might require them to, you know, act.
