but that's also one thing that I don't know if I like about it. You can't really give them weapons. I don't mean ultra violent weapons or anything, but if you wanted to make a Megaman level you'd want to add a blaster.

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't see the appeal in this game - it looks like just another platformer to me.

I guess it doesn't help that I don't really like platformers.

I hate all the stages derived from other games (aside from Metal Gear Sack). They're uncreative, they play like crap (I'm in the US beta), and they're ugly as hell (green hill zone is an especially bad offender). There's quite a bunch already infesting the servers, and it's only going to get worse when the game is actually released.

there's much better stages out there than this. I just don't have any means of getting footage of them, or I would.

at least these lame levels will be wiped when the beta ends. hopefully the good stages will be recreated.

I think it's a good example of what can be done. People will come up with original ideas once they refine their level making.

Agreed. It's ok for a novelty effect, but I'm sure it will be done better. I'm also looking forward to seeing what the truly creative can do.

I've been signing up everywhere that's been offering them and still nada. I've been shunned from every beta I've signed up for so far. :cry

It's not that it's just a platformer, it's that you *make* the platforming. And once you get some especially creative people with this game, it won't be long before this thing trancends simple platforming.

If people can make FPSs using the PSones RPG maker game, then they're going to have a field day with LBP

At first I didn't want in the beta, but then I tried and it became a game of 'Where do I try next?'

Thankfully I have managed to get that under control, especially knowing that the game is a few short weeks away.

I don't have a PS3 but I also see zero appeal for this game. It is really not my cup of tea. I kinda like platformers from time to time, but this just is a big meh from me.

Here is a video of a working calculator someone made. Kinda useless but the work that went in to it is mind melting. Just watch and see.

I too am joining the club of "the more i see the less i want" This was one of the big "pros" that I added to the list when I first bought my PS3 last year, but now I'm seeing this as more of just a do-it-yourself game. This genre never really appealed to me in the first place. Take RPG maker for example... why would I play a game that I wrote and made myself?

But no one says you HAVE to make your own levels. Plenty of people will be doing it for you. I see the bigger appeal coming from seeing what people come up with.
