So I was in Target the other day looking for new movie toys, and I noticed two small girls (around 8 or 9) and their parents looking at the TFs. They were looking for Bumblebee, and they were saying things like "I already have Jazz" and "I don't like Starscream".

This was a first for me. In my 20+ years of TF hunting, I have NEVER witnessed little girls looking at the TFs, let alone know them by name and be actively looking for certain ones.

I was floored. There's changes going on, yo. This movie is doing stuff to people.

  Well, I could see older girls thinking Jazz and Bumblebee are the "cute" Transformers (come on, Bumblebee was barely bigger than an adult human in G1, and he was the smallest Autobot, so he had to have gotten the cuteness factor thar).

But I'd never expect little girls wanting Transformers.

SERIOUSLY FANGIRLS, WHAT IS IT WITH YOU GUYS AND JAZZ!? AND SOMETIMES STARSCREAM!? WHAT!? :banghead:  *Racks his head over this confusion*

That's not quite surprising. But still, that's good news for the fandoms increase.

I saw groups of teenaged girls without any male companions when I went to see the movie. Girls there who were about as excited as their boyfriends.

When I saw Pirates with a female friend of mine, she said she wanted to see Transformers, too, even though she knew nothing about the franchise (other than that I was a fan).

I think it's pretty cool that more females are becoming interested... or at least are admitting to being interested.

On the way there, my girlfriend was saying how much she wanted to be able to see it with me, but I think she was more interested in sharing my excitement than actually seeing the movie. ;)

I know a good number of girls that are into TF. Optimus and Bumblebee are well loved.

I can't quite corrupt my 4 year old niece with them though. She likes ponies and barbie better. I'll continue to try though.

In my showing, a little girl shouted I LOVE YOU OPTIMUS PRIME at the end and people laughed. Chicks dig Bumblebee because of how he emotes in the film. They dig Jazz because he's Jazz and therefore kicks ass. And they dig Prime because of the booming, commanding voice.

The other day, at TRU, I was walking down the Barbie aisle when I saw those 2 little boys asking their dad if they could buy... Ah, nevermind.

I've been to TRU on two separate occasions where I've witnessed a couple little girls (couldn't have been more than 7) running down the aisles going "Yay, Transformers!". They were with their moms, too. Suffice it to say, I wasn't expecting that.

Lol, all the little girls I play with (most of the ones on my street) know a lot about transformers. Probably my corrupting influence. ^^ No luck getting them to come see the movie with me when it's out though. :(  Working on it lol. :D

I was with a friend of mine lately, and I saw she had fake tattoos of both the Autobots AND the Decepticons. So I ask her why, and she said the then-upcoming TF Movie revived her childhood love for TFs.
