Let's just say I'm disappointed with their QC-Infested release of MPM-4 that's why I want to say Has-Tak "OWES" it's customers.
A Masterpiece figure that is heavily promoted but can't even lock it's own hood properly. Not only that, some Takara's releases have missing fingers, some have scratches or fallen parts despite the added paint apps.

Despite they're turning into "evasion mode" about that issue, as a customer you wanna make them liable for it.
Customer has a right to air complaints anyway.
I like the figure, I just hate the QC issue surrounding it.

Nice to see some more Tiny Turbo Changers listed - I hope they pick a variety of characters from all the Movies to fluff up the numbers.
I also hope they don't pad the waves with excessive repaints... I don't mind the odd one like Grinder. But i'd rather have Constructicons, Ravage, Nitro, More Dinobots and so on.

In a way it's a shame that timing wise it wasn't practical to do a wave of RID style Tiny Turbo Chjanger before the next Movie comes out.
I hope Wave 2 does show up in the UK in may area though as everyone just endlessly gets restocks of wave One over and over. Even the few locations that had some wave 2 once they'd gone seemed to have gotten more Wave One the next time. Which is pretty annoying when you want a Squeeks.

They'll more than likely never admit it pare, they might say "we are looking into it" or "those were isolated cases" but the answers we seek will probably be found by the fandom before they ever admit it. Internally I wouldn't be surprised if Takara especially, laid out the factory and possibly switched factories. The failure rate for MPM04 was higher than anticipated, I'm sure it caught Hasbro and Takara off guard.

Going forward, crossing fingers but I highly doubt the new MP movie Bumblebee/Barricade/Ironhide will be prone to as much qc issues as MPM04. If they end up riddled with as much qc issues, Hasbro and Takara ought to just change factories.

I know I'm late to the party, but I'm really excited for Ironhide. The only Ironhides I got were small-size class ones, the Blue Allspark Power repaint, and the utterly amazing Recon version, and the former few just didn't cut it. I never got the Deluxe because i never saw it, and regrettably passed on the DotM one in favor of the craptacular Voyager Prime. And that listing for Bee is actually for MV6? Volkswagen Bee right off the bat? I'll have to see the design until getting hyped. Barricade is an instant-buy, eyes-on-the-prize sort of thing for me. Only Barricade toy I've completely liked was weirdly the DotM deluxe, and I've had at least one of every one of his molds.

I got it, but still do not understand why Hasbro made Turbo Changers, Chomp Stomp Grimlock or that ridiculously big Bumbler.

I am not talking about doing only Masterpiece figure, but after years, all that simple stuff is still in shelfs.

That simple stuff sells or retailers would never stock it again. Hasbro does not force them what to sell. Hasbro makes what they know retailers will order, otherwise, they don't actually have a business. Retailers are not buying toys that don't sell to horde them for the Apocalypse. They are selling them. So retailers want to sell more. They are going to do this until they stop selling. Then Hasbro will have to make something else.

I really can’t wait to see that. If they take the leader class as a starting point, and essentially remove the battery pack to slim the profile and have the cockpit sit further in the chest it’ll be a HUGE improvement. Also would be nice to have the waist tab in place better and add more stable feet, and wrists that rotate

Well, I have a feeling like retailers have no choice. Lets see if you find some of these simple stuff in clearance one year after release.

I think this is problem with Hasbro in my country. There are a lot of these simple toys and almost nothing from Generations line. And I see these toys everywhere, no one have interest.

And a decent jet mode would be a nice change as well.

I thought I deleted this after seeing other people asked and had their questions answered... Lol hopefully it won't be as long as Barricade then. I'm really looking forward to this

I meant for the tiny turbo changers, no other toy interests me anymore, I really hope they carry on the tiny turbo changers line, maybe we will find out if they’ll do some play sets at the American international toy fair next month

This is all just anecdotal though. Item X might not be doing well in your location, but it's doing well enough to continue selling them, which was the point Michael was trying to.make.

I dunno, kids like dumb shit, I guess. I actually wanted Chomp & Stomp Grimlock just to play with on my desk but he was almost the price of a Leader Class figure so screw that.

I think a better question, instead of "why do they make them?", would be "why do they make these basic gimmick toys so expensive?" because there's clearly a huge difference in parts count and paint and such between Leader Grimlock and Chomp & Stomp Grimlock, but they cost almost the same price. If those giant one-step changers were far cheaper, I don't think it'd be such an issue.

Maybe. Wonder how long it will takes to sell last Allspark Tech stuff.

That is really good question. Sometimes I think price tag has been set by weight of plastic.

I dunno, things like Chomp & Stomp Grimlock are pretty light overall.

Your individual store may have no choice. The corporation that owns it may have a regional buyer that needs to adjust their buying for the local markets. Regardless of how your local shops handle buying, at no point can Hasbro dictate what products they must stock. People insist that Hasbro has that power. They do not.

For example, if Walmart only wants one step Changers and refused to stock Generations toys anymore, as the largest seller of toys in the US, they would be in a position to force Hasbro to devote its energy on designing new one step Changers. Hasbro couldn't devote its current financial resources to a product line that won't be sold at all retail stores.

We saw this with GI Joe. Walmart refused to stock any more Joe toys. So did Target. TRU and online retailers had enough money to support limited quantities of select figures. Eventually, that stopped as sales suffered.

Walmart doesn't support the Masterpiece line. That's why we're not getting most of those over here. TRU gets the movie ones to help sell to the collectors market, but they're closing to stave off going out of business entirely. We could probably see either more focus on high end product because Hasbro and Bandai both are heavily supporting TRU thru their bankruptcy problems or we could substantially less. That could kill even the movie Masterpiece line.

As for Europe, each region has their own strategy. If Hasbro in Germany doesn't want to import an entire product line, the main Hasbro office doesn't force them to, because the regional Hasbro are presumed to know their local markets better than RI does. The smaller markets determine what products they want to offer, again based on what their regional toy retailers are looking to stock.

If TRU in Finland only wants One Step Changers, you're right back to the same problem I expressed in my earlier example.

The stores have the power over what they stock. Not what they sell. What they stock. Hasbro just fills the orders.
