thats not in the original first draft, but it may have been in one of the many re-writes.I've read a few scripts, the original had little detail about how any charascter died.

It just had a bunch of names/characters that were ok to kill off.

But even the story board has Smokescrean in that shot.



As for Sideswipe, in the storyboards, they have him fighting Devestator with Ultra Magnus.

 

Only defense I have, listen to the Fans commentary on the 20th Anniversery Transformers Movie. BTW, love how the Autobots take down Devastator and sorry it didn't make the final cut

 

I'll dig the DVD out later and listen to it, but I dont see how a fans commentary is going to settle this.

Now, the guy that mentions a dead Sideswip in the corner sounded like Paul Hitchens [identified by his accent]

But he says nothing about the script as it conserns Sideswipe

To answer the first, you cant provide evidence that they died because theres none in existences as far as I know.Because it was never seen in the film, because no story boards dipict them dieing.

To answer the 2nd, anything is possible, but that alone is hardly evedence that it did happen.

 

but the only evidence we know is for that Wheeljack, Brawn and Windcharger never died
