Besides Iridescent, what other songs did they write for DOTM?
They didn't write anything for dotm iridescent was chosen
Which other ones were chosen then?
There were rumors of burning in the skies but nope never happened
Hey, speaking of Iridescent, there's been this question on my mind about it in relation to the soundtrack; early interviews said that Steve Jablonsky was gonna work the tune of it into the score, like he did with New Divide in ROTF, but I cannot for the life of me find the track that contains it...
I don't think he did it as much with DOTM as he did with ROTF. This time around, I think he used a motif that contained a similar style as Iridescent, but not exact parts of the song itself. It's been a month or so since I've listened to the score so which songs in the score he did it in escape me at the moment.
I think he edited the instrumental of the song, shortened it in some parts lengthened it in others.
Why do you think that Iridescent was not written specifically for the film? I know it was released long before the release of the film, but by that time there have been enough to feel its spirit and to write a song. Especially, Iridescent in my opinion did not fit into the new album of Linkin Park and was not written in their usual style (and it does not make it worse!)
Because the dotm people asked if you have a song for us then mike said our fans really like one song in particular and that was iridescent
Linkin Park did have a song that was exclusively for ROTF -- "New Divide." That song's not on any of their albums, so... that's probably the only song that they wrote for the TF movies in mind.
"What I've Done" was chosen from their Minutes to Midnight album for the 2007 Movie and "Iridescent" was the song that they finally picked to be used for DOTM.
