Yo yo. This one I started for Mirage, but I found out that I LOVE Ratchet as the doc who doesn't really care heh. So I'll likely be coming back to him a lot. (He's also easy to draw Past Strips: LilFormers - Citybots Lil Formers - Spike Lil Formers - Blaster/Soundwave Lil Formers - Sixshot Lil Formers - Unicron Lil Formers - Optimus Lil Formers - Seaspray Lil Formers - Megatron Lil Formers - Long Haul Lil Formers - Erector Lil Formers - Arcee Lil Formers - Warpath Lil Formers - Shockwave
Hah, I do actually really want to do a Cosmos, I just haven't thought up a good gag for him yet. Dont' worry, he'll get his kick in the teeth ( or faceplate) eventually.... I do have a little poll up on allspark to pick who I'll do next though. these are guys I already have some ideas for: http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16777
OMG! Another one! These ahve me LoL everytime! btw, the link to your citybots.jpg does not go there, mebbe you can fix that. iDD
Oops! Thanks, Fixed it. All depends on if one comes to me. But I can't promise it'll be funny....perhaps funny-esque.
What do you make these in? How long do they take to do one? Are they drawn by hand then scanned or are they done digitally? What program do you make the outlines in? I love drawing SD transformers, but they take forever to draw for me. I would be interested to hear any advice or experience you have. I love the flexible SD robots style you have going on... My SDs are so stiff, like SD gundam models.
Dude, your sprites kick so much ass! I'll try to answer everything... How I make them... I draw em by hand, then scan them, and ink & colour them in photoshop. It takes me maybe 45 mins to draw a strip, and about 3 hours to ink, colour, & letter. Though I don't usually do it all at once, I work on them a bit at a time when I can. The Mirage one I actually drew a week and a half ago but only got to inks/colours last night due to a massvie hard drvie failure crossed with canadian thanksgiving heh.. I started off doing all the varied lineweights in the original drawing, but now I draw em more simply. I wait until I'm inking to add teh extra line weights. I've also started to rely on photoshop to fix mistakes too , like if the neck is too long, or like here how I redid the head in this Fort Max pic: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k142/wulfferine/citysketch.jpg I dont' know if this makes me lazy or crafty But yeah, the only tools are a sketchbook, phtoshop, and a wacom tablet. (saving up for a Cintiq, it WILL be mine!)
Thanks dude... I envy people who can draw with pad and pencil. How your sketches can end up as such cool digital art is amazing. I never can seem to handle drawing a wireframe or the circles on paper and the drawing over them on the paper. I think that little bit of 'drawing' gives a picture soul which I can't get. I was inspired by you to make an SD drawing but I still can't seem to get things to my liking. This was done in Photoshop with 'teh mouse' as I can't seem to draw robots on paper. Well, anywho... keep it up. I want to buy a t-shirt with a comic panel on it
Looks sweet! Well, I think the way I keep a little life in my guys is that I use a pressure sensitive tablet rather than a mouse. That way I can have 'imperfect' lines rather than the perfect consistent lines you get with the mouse.
Mr Moylan, your work is fantastic, and easily one of my all time fav TF cartoon strips. Do you, by any chance sell signed prints?
