I noticed in the collection thread that 99% of all collections are unlit. I keep my collection at work and since it's out in the open I'm opting for some cool ambient lighting of some kind to accentuate the figures.

If you have any suggestions on how how to properly light your collection in a tasteful manner please post your ideas, or even better, your photos!

I'm playing around with the idea of using LED rope lighting, or perhaps LED light bars with changeable colors.

(can an admin add an "r" to what's lighting YOUR TF's in the thread title please?) d'oh!

The LED light ropes would probably work best.

i am always amazed at what people can do with lighting. we have people that use entire strings of blue Christmas lights for illuminating their back porch, for example. they are bright enough to see by, generate little to no heat, and they do not attract the nasty bugs like normal lights.

the point to that is that you shouldn't limit yourself just to LED's. there are other more flexible and inexpensive ways to show off your collection.
    experiment a little.

but for the moment, the rope lights seem like a good idea. good luck.

I had those push-button stick-on lights that I attached to the ceiling of my shelves. Battery tended to run out pretty quickly on those (probably because I bought cheap ones), but they looked pretty nice, IMO.

I use the sun! LOL j/k

I think you'd have to go with the LED rope. I was thinking of doing the same. That or finding a display shelf with built in LED lighting..
