Really? $18? I guess the last deluxe I got at retail was back in combiner wars. Guess that is why my view is still pre-CW in pricing.
Yeah, if you're questioning the price tag, that's even more reason to NOT wait for the Takara release. It's going to be the same figure, no Prime Master, for a bigger price. Not really following the logic of waiting for Takara, unless you're in a location where the TT ones cost less than the Hasbro ones. Or if you simply weren't paying attention when Grotusque was available, or changed your mind about getting it since TRU went under.
Changed my mind is the issue for grotesque, before rippersnapper, I was ambivalent, now I think a small band of "monsters" with rippersnapper as a friend cosplaying to make them feel normal would be fun, but grotesque is now over fifty bucks most places, as they are mostly the same mold in altered coloring and a few bits, I am unsure if getting both, or just finding a good deal on one is enough. Twinferno has two versions if I really feel the need for him, but the monster squirrel and bug guys are harder to find, that two pack is a better way to get the monster squirrel, but if they mold is similar enough, or just that much better as repugnus, then I wouldn't need to get two.
Yeah, if you haven't already gotten Grotusque, then it might make more sense to explore those other options. I would guess the Takara two-pack would be the better option, in that case, but that's assuming it's not that much of a mark-up for the Takara LG-EX label since they're now identical - unless you're really after the Prime Master or the Scorponok head.
Yeah, that is why I was considering the takara pack, if someone has convincing pics of grotesque being fun or just blocked by his own mold issues, I might be able to decide either way.

It looks like the Repugnus/Grotesque two-pack is going for 7000 Yen with a January 2019 release date, around the same time as 'Thrones' Primal. I guess I'll be getting the remaining two Monsterbots after all.
I just realised I can use the Repugnus head for my TR Hot Rod. I've been wanting an alternate head for him, since I already have Legends Targetmaster Hot Rod as well (I've pretty much give up on an IDW upgrade (Upgrade? Is that actually the correct term here? IDW Hot Rod is kind of special. .)). It has an appropriate colour scheme and a 'youngish' appearance that I can use to repurpose former TR Hot Rod as a new character, perhaps a protege of sorts to Legends Hot Rod. As for the Repugnus body, I've got a spare yellow Legends Titanmaster who's been waiting ages for a proper body of his own.

Well at least there is a big difference with the Titan Masters. Liking the more detailed paint on them.
I have Hasbro Grotusque, and its Titan Master has the same paint apps. Same with Prime Wars Repugnus as well, it seems.
Then my repugnus must have gotten a worse paint app, its jsut a light black over the face (which is still better than Hasbro normally does). I can see the details on the face better on the TT version, especially the eyes and crest above the eyes since they did them in lighter colors. Edit: Just noticed, it looks the same to the Hasbro, except for the close-ups on the Titan Master for Repugnus.
