TakaraTomy have done a good job in remolding the mold of Black Shadow or Overlord but I would love to see TakaraTomy version of Black Shadow

Eh, I would prefer a voyager sized KO of the Iron Factory version instead. The old Generations version feels outdated and I honestly hate the look of TR and current mainline figures.

@PredaconElder was saying hasbro hasn’t been shy about releasing Takara characters (metalhawk) or Takara initiated remolds (super ginrai/Magnus prime) seeing as both were released in the siege on cybertron box set

We need that Leozack so bad! But you know it since we’ve talked about it so many times before! Here’s hoping Takara does it!!!

I don't mind the wings, they do that trick from animation where they look bigger in vehicle mode and smaller in robot mode. Plus Sky Shadow got a Leader-class figure, who would've seen that coming?

Makes you wonder why Takara never actually released Sky Shadow, despite him being a Japanese fiction original character. I assume it's because him splitting into a tank and jet is not actually faithful to his character. I presume the same thing for why Liokaiser (in his altered composition by Hasbro) was never released by Takara either.

Budget, remember at the time Grand Max, Greatshot and Baldigus were either releasing or entering preorder.

I like the colors, but them combined looks a bit of a mess to me.

I suppose that's a plausible explanation as well. I'd like to think though, that character faithfulness is the reason Sky Shadow and Liokaiser were never released by Takara though, since UW and Legends made quite a big deal of retooling or redecoing figures from the Hasbro versions to more faithfully represent the characters. As you say, there might not be the budget to do such retooling, and Takara would probably have wanted to do that if they were to release figures of those characters. Otherwise, it can't have cost them all that much to simply port over the Hasbro releases wholesale and either just slap a few Japanese language stickers on or change the packaging.

I doubt that was the reason, given that Takara had no problem releasing a great deal many of figures in Legends and Unite Warriors that did something differently or were otherwise slightly different from their original G1 versions.

I think it's a fairly plausible reason, considering that the differences in the figures I mentioned compared to their original character portrayals are fairly major ("different" alt-mode, major changes to a combiner team's line-up) in comparison to the differences you cited. For instance, Drag Strip being a four wheel dragster as opposed to a six wheeled one isn't that drastic of a change, or Slingshot and Fireflight looking nearly identical save for colors and headsculpts (same goes for Wildwider and Dead End).

Maybe Takara is waiting to do Sky Shadow right and give it accurate legs. Given how extensively they retooled the existing figures for this Big Powered set, a new lower body for Sky Shadow will be very easy for them to pull off.

New lower legs? Who cares if the legs aren't accurate?

That, and probably doing away with the tank component. The fact that Sky Shadow was such an obvious pre-tool of Overlord turned me off his figure, as well as the fact that him splitting into a tank and jet was not faithful to his character. In fact, I'd have argued that the Generations Thrilling 30 Leader Jetfire (which was later retooled into the Seekers), could have been retooled well into Sky Shadow.

The original toy is a pretender, you're kinda barking up the wrong tree.
