Okay I'm going to be picky here...

The gray on Blitzwing's wings is too dark. The nose cone on the jet should be tan instead of gray.

I want the chest fillers to be removable so i can have one of the heads be the heart, the literal heart and the other the brains. In fact if they are swappable pieces you could just glue in the face into the head and give the chestpieces to be the titanmaster backpacks by screwing them in! Then youd really have the powermasters!

Cheapest I can find them is premiumcollectibles, and the difference there $70 AUD vs $95 AUD; $25 AUD (I can potentially get free shipping there).
Still, if know anywhere cheaper, let me know!

Don't do Premiumcollectibles. I promise you'll regret it.

I've read some of the horror stories. I've been okay so far with the things I've ordered from there...

Just import them from HobbyLink Japan or AmiAmi. Shipping to NZ is dirt-cheap so it shouldn't be much different to Australia.
Granted, Hasbro's stuff is more expensive in New Zealand than Australia (current exchange rate means you can often import pretty much anything from Australia to NZ and have it cost the same or sometimes less even after shipping!) but it usually works out the same or cheaper for me than buying Hasbro's versions from local retailers.

I had some great experiences at first and was quick to trust them.

They now have nearly $3000 worth of paid preorders from me they haven't fulfilled, some of which have been out for well over 6 months.

Yeah...I think the Hasbro version may look a bit better. I even think the USA model looks better, thought I think it's just the art style.

Well I was finally worn down and preordered Overlord.

    My mind:

"I have no relationship to or memories of Masterforce, Victory, etc."

"No, but you've already resolved to get Star Saber if they make one in Power of the Primes. Because he's a leader, and you just think he's a cool toy design."

"Yes... but Overlord isn't a leader, really. Well, temporarily perhaps, in a continuity I know nothing about. But he's more of a general than anything else, and a warrior. So he doesn't count."

"True, but your love of Powermaster Prime is based on your love of the Western G1 toy. Not the Japanese continuity. He only has fiction, for you, in your headcanon. So... since for you, he's just Optimus Prime reformatted... and not the character Ginrai who fought Mega and Giga... there's nothing stopping you from doing the same for Overlord, is there?"

    "Well..."

"Besides... Star Saber will need a nemesis."

"But Overlord wasn't Star Saber's chief nemesis anyway!"

"Yes, but you don't care about that continuity... and you won't be getting Deathsaurus in all probability if they make one...

"You're trying to rationalize getting this because you think it's a cool design! I won't fall for that!"

"But half the reason you want Star Saber is because he's cool..."

" ... but... but LG Overlord doesn't even have the face boobs like the Hasbro version..."

"... but you don't care about that anyway. You just think he looks awesome."

"You're right, I do... I... no! Wait! I mean... NO! I'm not doing it..."

"You won't have to pay until January..."

    "..."

"You know you want him. Look at his pointy SR-71 like shoulders..."

    "... they... are pointy..."

    "Mm hmmm..."

    "... dammit ..."

    "... yeah... that's what I thought..."

    *Orders LG Overlord*

    Sorry to hear that :(
I'm currently sitting on a TR Trypticon and Fanstoys Hydra preorder from them (both due in October). I recently received a TR Octane, with no problems...
TBH, I think I'll wait for TR Overlord to come out at retail, rather than ordering online, anyway (for me it was just a question of whether LG Overlord was good enough to get instead; I don't think it is).

You owe it to yourself to watch Masterforce.

The main big Cybertronian war might not be centerstage in Masterforce, but Overlord is THE driving force on Earth, forcing Ginrai to evolve as a leader, from his naive 'Orion Pax-ish' beginnings.
I think Masterforce is also the one, to maybe give people a better idea about Pretenders in general.

Interesting how the Japanese cartoon model is more accurate to the G1 toy (and not necessarily better looking for it) and how the G1 shoulder transformation joints were reinterpreted as stripes on the chest in various toy and 'toon versions.

The US animation model has details on the forearm suggesting a fist-sliding mechanism that the original toy never had.

    Huh.

Has it actually been confirmed that Overlords Engines aren't removable - I just can't see what Takara would take that route and not make engines that can be removed for other Titan Masters to fit there. The one thing that bugs me about the images of Takara Overlord shown are his chest panels. For me there should be moulded back to front so when closed the revese side of them are showing with the plastic sticking outwards rather than inwards - if that made any sense lol!

Well, I think it would make sense for them to just mold them in, as Ginrai had his PM also molded in. In the pictures it also looks like they are molded in. Of course it would be foresight to have them removable, as for the next play feature. But for the current feature, which is all that matters, it's not necessary to have them be removable. So I would not count on it being removable at all. It's the only thing that makes sense.

It does really only not make sense just from the view of a collector who wants it to be different. But in reality it makes totally sense.

lol! I totally see what you mean. Would you say the Hasbro Release is looking like the better release figure or go with Takara. I'm trying to predict what route Takara will go with the POTP Toys and if they will make everything a God Master resulting in a re-release of Overlord and Ginrai down the line

I'm now thinking of getting both versions of Blitzwing and Overlord. TR Blitzwing for the purple face that'll make him look different from the other Blitzwings in my collection, and his Legends counterpart for, to be honest, his pet elephant.

I like Legends Overlord, except his chest doors, so I may try sticking the small jet on his chest, similar to the way Archieboy did during his review of TR Overlord (in the Transformers Feedback & Reviews section).
