That would be nice but would drive up the cost or we'd have to loose something. I wish Hasbro had made the Titan Master class more compatible with the bigger toys. Better color matching, different sized faces so some would work on voyagers and leaders, and most of all alternate heads for Optimus, Galvatron, and PMOP.

Where are you buying it from that it costs so much more for the Legends version in Australia? It's about the same after shipping to New Zealand.

I know this is the case. But as a die hard Japanese G1 (Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory) fan, who can't afford to buy the vintage Japanese G1 TF's that just about all of fetch over $1,000 a piece, Takara G1-articulated would be so awesome.

I opened a ticket on NY asking them to add these 3 to preorder. It annoys me to no end that they don't add LG figures unless somebody pokes them.

Yeah but when you look at Marvel Legends, some figures have massive BAF parts, some not. Some have extra heads, some don't. It may drive cost up, but damn would it be awesome.

I don't know why transformers don't do the Build A Figure. Glad they don't, it saves me money, but if I was running toys, it would be the first thing I do.

See, I don't think "Giga and Mega turned into engineblocks in the 80's" is a good enough argument. What youre suggesting is that, rather than have two different faces to choose between, Giga and Mega should both turn into otherwise useless cubes. Here you've got the option of the faces and theyve molded the engines into his chest for accuarcy to the original toy.

Im sorry, but optional faces is just better than cubes that connect to Overlord's chest... which are basically what Godmasters are.

If they wanted to do Godmasters, they should at least make them actually do something. Maybe an insane retool where plugging one of them into the chest drops down the connector thingy that hooks onto the one on the legs.

Transformers has BAF but not like Marvel Legends. I know combiners are not exactly the same but it's there...

Can't believe i'm saying this, but for the first time, I prefer the Hasbro version over the Takara version of Overlord. I get that purists will be happy with the powermaster engine detailing, but knowing what we know for the upcoming POTP line, i'd much rather have an Overlord with the ability to store Primemasters instead of having two engines permanently glued to his chest (which is a 99% guarantee, if Takara's Fort Max is any indication).

The 80's Godmasters would unlock portions of the transformation. Titanmaster cubes connecting to the chest would actually do LESS than the 80's Godmasters.

I actually agree with you for those reasons, but I ended up pre-ordering anyway due to fears about him being in the last wave of the line. I missed out on a few awesome figs this way (one of the more painful was animated blackout), so I'm not taking any chances. If I find the Hasbro one at retail or pre-order somewhere online, then I'll happily have 2 of him.

They've already done a 'Build a Figure' before, they did a Transmutate in the BW 10th anniversary line years ago. Granted it was a while back, but it was done.

The problem is you can't have a 'build a figure' as well as a toy that transforms unless you want the cost to go 'waaay' higher, & some people think HasTak are scrimping out on things (i.e. Paint, hollowness, size etc) as it is, so costs would skyrocket (or more things would be sacrificed, probably both)

Plus even if we did have a 'build a figure' again somehow, for cost reasons it more than likely wouldn't transform anyway. I can't think of many characters you could therefore do, maybe Rung or the Quintessons at a push.

Imagine the fury if costs went up & all we had at the end was a big action master :D

And this is why I can't entirely get over what Takara did. This isn't the same situation as Ginrai, where there was never any space to add in a powermaster. Overlord straight up already had the cavities in his chest for them. And yes, I do think having 2 cubes slot into Overlord's chest is better than 2 face options. It means that you are using both Giga and Mega simultaneously like they should be used. The way we have it, one of them just gets to chill in their cockpit while the other becomes a face.

    There's a bigger issue: sh*t distribution.

For some reason, Hasbro has an impossible time getting all the toys to the stores in correct numbers. When your priority is spamming Optimus and BB, you're also running into some issues. Even the Marvel toys aren't well distributed, so you end up with a bunch of legs and torsos. :banghead:

No, you made for a good point (especially for those of us that actually watched Supergod Masterforce). But the two face idea... I totally called that! :lol  I just wish the difference was actually NOTICEABLE. Seriously. The faces look the same from across the room. :(

I thought they looked like powermasters in a different picture? Are there legs designed to look like Powermaster blocks from the leg side, and a face on the other side? Cause that would solve the issue pretty well.... Except that you'd still need a head....

But personally speaking, I don't think this guy is worth some $90. The HM gimmick shouldn't be slapped on every character so arbitrarily like this. Overlord was cool enough without that gimmick - this is too much gimmickry! :lol
