Holy crap do I love tanks, so transformers that turn into tanks are extra cool. In this thread we should talk about how cool tank transformers are and what the best ones are.

I just got the TFC Iron Army set because I like old-timey historical alt-modes, so 4 WWII-themed bots was pretty much a no-brainer. The robot modes for the tanks are kinda shrimpy, but in tank mode they're pretty great.

...and they look extra great when connected to PCC Heavytread, who is probably my favorite tankformer I've got.

I really like Generations Warpath even if he's not based on a "real" tank - he's fun to transform, looks awesome in both modes, and looks more than a little bit like a Halo scorpion tank which is pretty neat in my book.

I've got 2 of Guzzle, one G1 bot and the more recent Cyberverse one. I like them both, I wish the face was better on the Cyberverse one, but he's still fun to mess around with. He's not as good as Heavytread, but I still dig him.

I've also got TFTM Leader Brawl, who is crazy-huge and a lot of fun. He's a huge step up over the Deluxe that came out first. I find his transformation a little finicky but he's still really big and impressive in both modes.

Any other must-buy tanks I'm missing out on?

 

G2 Megatron is a lot of fun!

G1 Blitzwing is also good.

 

I always had a soft spot for Armada Megatron, but he's not for everyone.

Oh, and ROTF Bludgeon.

 

i need more tanks in my collection. i've been pining for cyberverse guzzle for a while now, and i can't wait for that megatron remold of bludgeon. heavytread looks pretty cool too.

 

Bludgeon all the way. Best tank TF toy I can think of.

I dont have a leader brawl though..I REALLY want one

Heavytread IS awesome. too bad more peeps dont have him to appreciate that one. Warpath is good. Guzzle is nice as well.

I really like hailstorm and mindset, but they are more like MLRS type, Straxus and skullgrin are great too

 

armada demolisher is my favorite tank tf mostly for sentimental reasons

None of these are officially tanks, but Hailstorm/Mindset and Straxus/Skullgrin for the win.

Well, Straxus is a half track tank but whatever. I also really like ROTF Voyager Megs. Though mostly for his robot mode.

 

here's my suggestions:
RotF Bludgeon/Banzaitron mold. and after seeing the G2-ish Megatron redeco at SDCC, i want that one, too.

G1 Blitzwing

Leader Brawl, or even the Deluxe Brawl is great.

the Super Gobots Destroyer has a great alt mode that could fit in with TFs. the bot mode...oh dear, no. lol.

 

Nothing Beats Generations Warpath

 

Leader Brawl is awesome. Generations Warpath is amazing. I like the Classics Megs from the 2 pack.

 

Bludgeon is best. Period.

 

Generations Warpath is my favorite one. Bludgeon is up there as well.

 

He's not just the best Tankformer ever, but one of the best deluxes ever.

Heavytread is good though, and I have a WfC Megatron coming in the mail I have high hopes for.

 

I need to give some love for Cybertron Defense Shattorshot Though it might not count

 

G2 Megatron and ROTF Bludgeon. They're really damn good tankformers too. Two of my favorites, right there.

 

Cybertron Defense Scattorshot is awesome if you're interested in that kind of tank

 

I am aware they have already been mentioned, but the Straxus mold (if you want to consider that a tank) and the ROTF Bludgeon mold are really great.

EDIT: Oh, and DrTraveler reminded me of WFC Megatron, who is a simply awesome Deluxe if you like the aesthetic.

 

Whoops, somehow I forgot to mention ROTF Bludgeon in my OP. He's really great and a lot of fun to transform, and his weapon storage is fantastic. He's just got a lot of character - he turns from a Japanese tank to a Japanese Samurai robot, it's great.

My only real complaint with Bludgeon is the soft plastic for his sword makes it kinda... floppy. Definitely not a dealbreaker, though.

 

I just gotta say: I LOVE the TFTM Leader Brawl.
