i might be making another mistake Fitting that they make it a Zaku. It can even do the motion of bringing a pilot into the cockpit, that's so cool :O
At the end of the day, I hate to say that this might be the worst-feeling kit I've built. Like, it might even be worse than the Sinanju in that regard. The arms and legs peg onto the body are just normal pegs (they don't even really *click* in), so moving the elbows or knees has a good chance to pop them off. There are also some pretty loose parts, like the back of the biceps, heels, and side-to-side torso. It's not loose enough to affect stability, but it feels bad. And it must be said. The shield connection is the worst thing ever, unless I've messed something up. It pegs into the arm, and by "peg" I mean the peg sits into a slot on the arm with next to no friction altogether. It works once you get the handle into the hand but, again, feels bad. It's not all bad. It looks fantastic of course, and the head build is one of the best ever with near perfect part separation. But still... We've come a long way.
see? mistake! but really, thanks for pointing that out. guess I'll finish my builds for this year with FA Unicorn then.
well, at least it would be NICE if both traditional jointed hands and fixed ones were BOTH included as OPTIONS in EVERY MG kit. it certainly wouldn't break BANDAI's bank, and i'm sure i'm not hardly the only GUNPLA customer that appreciate the option to no end...
The only kit I ever built that actually had it was the mg 00 raiser. But why would they do that with every kit when they can just get you to buy these nice fixed pose builder parts hands separately.
There is the Go-Saurer coming in December, and there was a show reveal for the lineart of Grendizer in the same style as the two mazingers not too long ago.
That's good news... I did googled it.. so HG 1/300 Go-Saurer? So it will be smaller than Gundams? Or is Go-Saurer is really that have BIG size specs that Bandai made it 1/300 but in actual it's near to 1/144 Gunpla/Mazinger Z kits? Is Go-Saurer cousin of Raijin-Oh?
G-Savvie, Archer, and Gearargarbleblarg arrived. Snappin' into the Saviour we all deserve now, ready get this turd up and taking point on my custom Gundam team.
For such an old kit, the G-Saviour isn't horrible. It has the somewhat ill-fitting parts and ugly seams and less articulation, but what is there isn't bad (except the head) and the backpack was fun to do. He just has to try not ruin everything.
Bandai's non-Gundam kits are still generally manufactured to a similar "size" compared to their Gundam kits, either comparable with ~5" 1/144 Gundams or ~8" 1/100 Gundams. So Go-Saurer is really just that huge. Ignoring the powered armour-type designs of Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell and others, I think the smallest I've seen are probably the mecha of Votoms (3-5m), Code Geass' "Knightmare Frames" (most are under 5m tall), and Escaflowne's "Guymelef" armours at around maybe 6m. The Valkyries of the original Macross are ~13m. Eureka seveN's "LFO" units are between that and Gundams, at ~14m. Gundams have a bit of a spread, generally at ~16m at their smallest from the late 80s through the 90s (for V, G, Wing, and X), 18m on average, but with a few extra-large Gundams (Turn A, Nu, and Unicorn at ~20m) and some extraordinarily massive Mobile Armor units. By no means a comprehensive list Those smaller scales generally encompass the "real robot" genre, being designed within those limits to seem more plausible. Gundam are among the larger examples in that spectrum, but if you dive into the "super robot" end of the field, where there's little pretense for realism, and tendency towards the ludicrous, then the restraints of plausibility are thrown out the window and the scales become boggling. 100s of meters tall for some of them. Or in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann's case, its height would be measured in light years. Go-Saurer probably fits somewhere in this spectrum.
Bandai probably blew most of the development budget on stickers so that why they are so stingy with the accessories and new parts for these GM kits. I now believe it's mandatory to apply all the stickers for the HG origin kits. They make a world of difference. Applying stickers could be additive too. Just don't do it at once in one day that could really drive you crazy. I spread this out over 10 days this time and didn't bother with trimming most of the stickers. Also drove half an hour to get this from a local collector last night. Now I finally have proper Hazel Unit 2 after all these years.
Go-Saurer's height is listed as 44.8 meters, so 1/300 just puts it at the same size range as the HG Gundams.
I've gotten an email notifying me that my A Baoa Qu 'lootbox' will be due tomorrow. It should have arrived last week but all the boxes were delayed. From the sounds of it, the two reported boxes that already got opened by regulars on the gunpla reddit have contained a Moon Gundam, weapon pack, and a gundam marker, or a larger set of Build Divers items (No Name, Binder Gun, Diver Base, and a Haro). Fingers crossed that I get Moon Gundam...or something even better like a P-Bandai...
