***EDIT***: There are NO RULES for this thread. I didn't mean to pigeon hole the thread by using the word "work" in the title. It isn't just for work (as in at a job) desks. It could be any flat surface that you use I. E. Nightstand, TV stand, end table, dashboard, school desk, home office desk, workbench, rolling tool box Etc. Etc. Etc.

How many of you keep Deskbots at work? Are the a conversation piece? Do coworkers comment?

    Let's see them!

    Here's my current setup:

You keep your MP-12 on your desk? You're a braver person than I.

A long, long time ago I worked with a gal who kept Beanie Babies on her desk, until one of them valued at $45 walked away.

It's a crappy knockoff MP-12. I wasn't happy with the purchase. It's loose in a bunch of places and has a bobble head. He can't hold his gun either. He also has a large red brush stroke in the rear fender in vehicle mode. So I figured why not use it as a deskbot.

I also work in a small office of 5 people. The door stays locked most of the time due to sensitive company documents. So no worries about my things getting up and walking away.

    That's awesome! Love it.

And the post above is exactly what I want this thread to be. I want to see your Autobot/Decepticon setups at work.

I had this space at my desk crammed with a TON of different figures, but I just did a massive clean-out and pared it down to just a few that are quirky/iconic/fun to play with. The two Optimii get transformed probably once a week, the Star Saber I just can't seem to put down; he goes back and forth to alt mode a couple times a week. I brought in Nightbeat so I'd quit unboxing and reboxing Minerva...

I have two offices for my work, one for when in the actual building and one at home. Even though I trust everyone at my office and have a door, I have a hard time leaving things there, even overnight. People love to come play with the figures I do bring in or admire them from a distance, so there's no issue with that.

How do you all feel about that part of things? I've been with the same company for 10 years, so I'm wondering how long have you guys taken to feel comfortable leaving stuff there?

Luckily, I'm behind two layers of lock down at my current office, so I feel pretty good leaving things laying around. Other places I've worked, I can typically sense after a few months whether any of my stuff might walk away overnight or if I'm out of the office a day or two.

I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. Gauging whether or not you can trust your fellow coworkers not to take things and how comfortable you are with them handling your stuff when you're away from your desk.

I'm fine with people touching my figures when I'm not there. Luckily, I don't have to worry about anything disappearing.

My biggest concern was whether *I* would be comfortable letting my coworkers know that I'm a Transformers collector by putting them all over my desk.

There's a certain stigma with collecting things that are meant for children. I deal with that stigma at home and with the in-laws.

It took me about 6 years (I've been with this company for about 8 years) until I felt comfortable enough to be loud and proud about my Transformers obsession and putting them on my desk for everyone here to see.

They're definitely a conversation piece to say the least. I get alot of questions and compliments about them.

Speaking of brave, this rugged soul just keeps $1000+ worth of goodies on his desk like it's NBD.

    *tips hat*

I suppose even if I suspected any of my colleagues of skullduggery, I can easily count on security through obscurity. Nobody around here would have any reason to think the things on my shelf are worth more than a few bucks each, so I don't disabuse them of that notion :)

Funny side note: a coworker walked in yesterday and asked "How many Optimuses do you have?!?!" I didn't point out that two is actually a relatively low number...

Awesome thread, I grab something different to display at my desk everyday! Glad to know I'm not the only one. =) A few recent shots...
