Bay has had a successful trilogy and now wants to lie back and co-produce with Spielberg. You are charged with selecting the new deirector. Where do you want it to go? Which direction? Its tone?
    Explain your choice. :thumbs2:

I'm running this for 60 days, the result will possibly give us an idea of where we want the franchise to go.

In a strange way, I can't see it being made by anyone else now.

One of my friends was musing a Guillermo Del Toro Transformers, and that sounded completely impossible for some reason.

I really can't think of any.

Steven Spielberg all the way, baby!

I mean, c'mon... wasn't he the one who decided that the Transformers franchise needed a live-action treatment? Not saying that Michael Bay was bad, but if Steven was the one who decided to make a live-action Transformers movie, he should have been the director.

Spielberg !!! GOD FORBID IS ROLAND EMMERICH!! He is one of the 2 a-holes who ruined Godzilla in 1998 !!!

Note: By accident I voted for Emmerich when I wanted to vote for Spielberg (My bad, yeah) !! Can you remove that vote eheeheeh !!  please??

I think Cameron could pull it off. Might end up being a little darker, but I think it would focus more on the bots.

nobody on that list, I can guarantee you that. He'll do the same thing he did with all of his other movies that he's produced, he'll go find some music video director for dirt cheap and have them direct and we'll get even more crap. :(

    Hope you like Nickelback videos.

He didn't apply for the job.

Would be nice, would be very nice.

How the heck do I do that?

I voted for Jon Favreau. His vision of 'Iron Man' is perfect. If he used the same disciplines, we'd have a really good film.

From this list, James Cameron, definitely, with Paul Verhoeven and Jon Favreau tied for second. Others I would be very interested in are Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson.

As for tone, I'd like to see the film people try and capture the awe and magic that should be felt in a Transformers movie. We've had in bits and pieces, but I feel too much comedy and extraneous plot-lines and characters have gotten in the way of things.

Wow, so far I am the only one who wants Bay to come back lol. Sorry but I've grown fond of him. I like his style and direction. Plus, I hate it when a series gets a new director let's go back in history

Batman Forever - Schumacher took Burton's dark gothic Batman to Vegas with nipples
    X-Men 3 - doesn't exist
Aliens - not bashing it, but Cameron took it from being a horror film to an action film. Not complaining just stating how he changed it up. For better or for worse? For you to decide.
And the list goes on with Jurassic Park, Return of the Jedi and more.

JJ Abrams is by far the most obvious choice, he has worked with Bay before, has a very similiar visual style, and is a close colaborator with Orci and Kurtzman, so if tey want to keep the movies similar in style and tone, get JJ Abrams.

None of them, I heard Bryan Singer on TFWIRE and I'm sold on him as a next possible director.

Other than Steven Spielberg, much of that list is a craptastic collection of directors. I'd be mortifed by many of them (Roland Emmerich...blech).

Where's Peter Jackson? J.J. Abrams (Star Trek helps make up for Cloverfield)? Chris Nolan (I can't believe I didn't think of him before when questions like these came up)? Zach Snyder? Hell even Richard Rodriguez, with maybe Quentin Tarantino hanging around the set?

Cameron is the only person who could pull off the action as well as Bay.
