Indiana Jones 4, Rambo 4, Rocky 6, Die Hard 4... and yes I'm aware there's a reference in there that I am not catching.

I hope they have sense enough to release this before or after the summer.

I haven't even bothered to see 4 yet. Most likely wouldn't see 5.

I'll repeat what I posted at AICN.

I love these two characters. I would be more than willing to pay $8 to see Murtaugh and Riggs on a fishing trip. The two have great chemistry, and its a joy to spend time with them.

If they are doing this, they need to take a page from Stallone's book. Divest this last chapter of the characters and extravagances of the later films. Go back to the beginning, go back to the core characters. Don't go chasing after bigger and better action sequences (ala Die Hard 4), or try to spice up the cast with Riggs younger, hipper partner (ala Chris Rock). Keep it centered on these two characters, and keep it an intimate affair.

Man I really hope they do this. I am a huge Riggs fan and I'm a sucker for a good cop movie.

Isn't Mel on everyone's bigot list? I'd be surprised if he makes another blockbuster movie in his life.

Four wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either. I don't mind revivals (Rocky Balboa is now one of my FAVORITE movies) but at the same time I'm not sure where they could go with a fifth Lethal Weapon. Riggs teaching his kid about the "Do's & Don'ts" of a sniper rifle while Murtaugh complains that the kids "too young for this shit?"

I agree. I enjoyed 4 for what it was. Not like my favorite movie or anything but I do enjoy the characters.

I would see it! Hell I found 4 pretty good. Well, I found them all pretty good! I use quotes from part 4 all the time...especially the following.

"DUH DUH! MY DENTIST IS IN DETROIT! WHAT IS THIS A DENTIST OR A PROCTOLOGIST!?!"

After reading this thread today I actually started doing the part from the resturant, "It's not flied lice, its fried rice! You plick!"
