Just saw them announce it on Larry King live. He died earlier this afternoon following an injury in June... The band is going to continue to play their scheduled show tonight at the Staples Center. Can't find any solid news reports online.

I'm quite familiar with DMB thanks to my sister, they'll probably never be the same. :/

I saw them a couple of times against my will. Never cared for their music or the pothead losers in the audience, but shame to see the guy die. Too young :(

I had to work at one of their concerts in the rain (during their 2002 concert season--Boulder, Colorado) and against my dismay...their music does not work well with the types of styles that I like. But it is sad that he passed away.

I am a huge dmb fan. I've seen them so many times and everytime looked forward to what LeRoi would bring tto the table that night. It's crazy over at antsmarching.org (basically the TFW of the DMB online community) where they are setting records for people being online and going down everytime you can click a link.

I had the honor of being front row on his side of the stage when the band played in Scranton this summer. Even yelling "LeRoi!" giving him a head nod and him giving me the head nod back.

I suggest you give a listen to some of the following youtube vids to see why this musician will be sorely missed:

Seek Up (considered the best version of Seek Up ever)

Some love for LeRoi after his accident:

Ah, ok. Talent should never be cut off in the middle of it's prime. I am not a big fan of DMB, have one or 2 cds. But RIP, my heart goes out to his friends, fans and family.

DMB is a good band and Moore was a killer sax player but Carter Beauford is a God on drums.

A talented band for sure, good music to run around in flip flops and trade bracelets with the laydeez
There was a track on their mail away cd that I liked, never caught the name of it though.

    RIP Leroi :(

=( What a talent, and gone...just like that.

I too must say that I'm not what you'd call a DMB fan, but some of their songs were excellent.

You can tell that they poured their heart and soul into every piece and enjoyed just being able to do what they do..and now, some of that joy is gone.

    Rest In Peace, sir.

Agreed on all points. I never got into DMB, although I enjoyed their radio hits from time to time, but I did like that the sax work often stood in a rather unique way.

Must have been a hell of an ATV accident.

Hate to see anyone die, even though I could care less about their music. Agreed with above, their audience sucked (use to stay at my old hotel when they came to town) but still not as bad as the one hippie group from Virginia (ahhhhh cant think of their name) with their yuppy pot/acid/cokehead fans...
