They already kind of did that with Built to Rule *Shudder*. Now let's never speak of that line again.

    EDIT: What Tm Tarantulas said.

Ya, not a good idea, they turn out looking like knock off generic robots, rather they used the plastic on actual non-Lego figures.

Tfs made by the Lego company would rock. BTR was not Lego, and didn't even follow the same principles of Lego construction. However, Lego is Lego, and they know how to make building sets.

^Agreed. Though to be honest, I'd be fine if they didn't transform; accurate models of vehicle or robot modes would be awesome. I would love Lego TF's. Don't know if they'd ever acquire the license for that sort of thing though.

If they could make them decently, and actually by Lego, I'd be all for it. Transforming could, potentially, still be an option. Though I'd still be happy if the just made bot-modes. A nicely sized Lego BfC Optimus Prime would be really cool, imo.

If you've gt the dough, you may want to check out Dia Block Convoy 'cause he's pretty bitchin' and for the time being it's as close as you're gonna get to a legit Lego TF. Look around, though, and you can probably find him cheaper. I paid around $80 or so when he first came out.

It would be nice if a Lego set could be made that gave you the option of Alt, Bot, or the ability to transform.
there are quite a few vids and things out there of custom built Lego-formers, but good god, i don't know how'd they tell you how to re-create what they did.

How hard would it be to find a MISB BTR Energon Optimus Prime? He is the only BTR toy I ever wanted.

I'd prefer that Hasbro/TakaraTOMY make a model kit type TF that comes completely disassembled, much like the Gundam kits. Also, I'd want these TFs to be regular sized, not mini sized like the kits that already exist.

And, yes, I can still continue to dream :)

Bingo. I'd be all for it. The Lego Star Wars vehicles look impressive to me (I had to sort through them since a younger cousin of mine wanted one for Christmas), so Transformer vehicles could look pretty nice, even if they didn't transform.

They'd be awesome. And expensive. And awesome again. People shouldn't even mention BTR in the same sentence as Lego... Lego know how to do these things properly.

Got Dia Block Convoy a Christmas or two ago. I have the BTRs too, but they stay in Alt mode as the robot modes are whack.

As for Lego I think you can find instructions on the Net on how to make an Optimus Prime if you're so inclined.

They can be really awesome if done correctly.

Supposedly Shoji Kawamori, the designer behind stuff like Macross and the MP Starscream mold, uses LEGOs during certain stages of design to see how things can work before putting into the final development stages.

An example of how it would work would be like the attached images.

If done correctly, it could definitely be a neat idea...but it would have to be really good to cleanse the taint of Built-to-Rule from the "building block TFs" concept.

I have almost all BTR TF figures. They are nice in Alt mode, but in bot mode is utter crap.
