I just found out about these by seeing them at Target, and I picked up both of the human mechas. At $15 a piece, it was worth it. http://www.lego.com/eng/exoforce/humans/productpage.aspx I never really liked the Bionicle figs, but these are awesome. Anime styling, very articulated, tons of stickers that really add lots of cool details, light up weapons by use of light pipes, just plain cool. There are two main human mechas, and two main evil mechas, I didn't really dig the evil ones at first sight, but now I may have to get them. I highly recommend them. If anything, they have a ton of joints and hinges that would make for some awesome lego TFs. If you like legos, anime, and robots, get these. Now.
That's an odd statement because these aren't Bionicle. I like these guys, got them all except for one of the robot $15 figures and the two $4.99 figures. There are some worries in the LEGO community though about the semi-realistic weapons.
You know what I mean, I didn't buy any of those sets, but these Exo-force ones are hot. I just went out and bought the rest of the mechs, but I haven't built them yet.
I have been considering getting at least the two human mechs. My son got the $30 set w/ an xmas giftcard and he loves it. That set is the wall / gave w/ the cannon, a car, and two mechs (one human, one alien). Heck, I have been digging them too.
Just noticed them in the Lego catalog that comes in the mail. Look foward to picking a few up. Legos rule.
Picked them ALL up. Put a few together and they're pretty neat. They're larger than the box pic. Just waiting for the Lego website to get instructions up for they're alt modes. Some of their alt modes smoke the main ones. Did'nt plan on getting them all, but since they combine... Here's some pics of the front & back of their packaging. May help your decision to buy or not.
If only they had these in the new Argos catalogue.. Guess I may have to take a trip to my nearest Lego store and get them... lol
In the Scandinavian release the series is called "Dino 2010" and there are NO GUNS. Instead each set has a trapping or cage gimmick. But I guess that since its inevitable that the Batman sets will come with guns Exo-Force is safe. I mean, it has to be since its in the cataloge. Oh yeah; I'm picking up a few of these. It whas like... Lego made these FOR me. I don't even REMEMBER the last time I whas interested in Lego.
I think I'll pick them up on clearance in a few months. I'm also waiting to see what direction Lego goes with the next wave of sets if the line is popular enough to warrant it.
Few months? You mean a year right. But I think they will continue with this theme if its popular. The catalogue has a yellow frame by the Exo-Force entry with "new play theme!". They haven't done THAT since Slizers.
Yeah, it may be awhile. Lego is stubborn an takes forever with price dropping. When they do it's only like 10% off. There may be a good chance for these to drop alot more though. Have a feeling they're going to end up like the Lego Alpha Team sets and be discontinued after the next wave or so. Then on sale. Those Alpha Teams sets were really cool too, they all transform sorda like M.A.S.K. without any re-assembling.
Have you tried the alternate build with Uplink? I think I like it better than the mech. Though I need to find a way to firm it up a bit.
Don't know why you say that. In Europe we had three consecutive years of Alpha Team. First a general theme, then an undersea theme and then the trick-vehicle theme. Three years.
