I decided, months ago really, that the previous one i built just wasn't good enough. So I ask all to bare with me here.
The design is based off of an art piece found in "the art of he-man and the masters of the universe" by Tim and Steve Seeley. The base of the castle is a 48x48 Lego base panel, cut into 9 16x16 panels. Made building each section much easier. So, here are the pics. And despite my several attempts, I couldn't get pics up on Flickr or moc pages. So thank you in advance for allowing me to share this creation 20180927_110003.jpg 20180927_105057.jpg 20180927_105130.jpg 20180927_105227.jpg 20180927_105258.jpg 20180927_105330.jpg 20180927_105410.jpg 20180927_105526.jpg 20180927_105602.jpg 20180927_105648.jpg 20180927_105716.jpg 20180927_105737.jpg

Thanks. I wanted to go as big as I could. The surprising part is that it only took about a week to build.

Out of curiosity with regard to colors, what were you unsure of? Could always use new ideas from my fellow bot people.

Well Greyskull has always been portrayed as greenish and covered in moss. This definitely works as a newer and better maintained version. Probably King Greyskull era.

Mostly true, but ordering a metric ton of sea foam green blocks can be...problematic at best, so I, like many others, stick with shades of gray. But thanks for the input. :)

I think he was more inferring you could have painted over the bricks. Which, if you do, you might consider picking up one of those Krylon Stone spraypaint cans and just painting moss on afterwords. Would neither cost much nor take too long.

That being said, I'm certainly impressed. I wanted to do something similar myself a few years back, but the actual cost of building a 1/12 scale castle using legos was...Terrifying. So I'm glad to see someone had the commitment to go through with it, the result is certainly great.

I couldn't paint my legos. At least not that many. But if I did ever decide to do a permanent castle, I would take up those ideas. :)

Tried, but moc pages kept running me in circles. But the more it gets viewed here, the more it will show up on Google. Thanks for the praise as well. :)

That’s a damn shame. Well, best of luck to you and the exposure of a talented build.

Thanks. I didn't want to bog down tfw with lots of pics of lego/non tf stuff, because I have several other ideas. Going to go for a bunch of "playsets" Lego style. Tmnt, motu, Ghostbusters, m.a.s.k. and thundercats is all I have in mind for now.

It'd never actually work, unfortunately. MotU is a Mattel property, and they own Mega Bloks (Mega Construx now), so they'd never license to Lego.

You really need to post your legos here. Others do, to positive reviews. I look forward to your builds.
