So with the little bugger coming out and (ironically) looking worlds better than his Deluxe big brother, I have to ask: Will Legends Scorpy fit inside Voyager Blackout's hindquarters appropriately? Anyone picked him up and tried it yet? Apologies if this has been discussed before or elsewhere but I haven't seen it yet, and if I haven't seen it, it's new to me! (And it might be a darn good reason for me to look forward to Premium Blackout...) Bonus Thought: If he does in fact fit somewhat comfortably nestled up against Blackout's nethers, what does that bode for Evac? Could there be an appropriately scaled Legends (Or WSTF??) figure that he could carry around instead of BoatGun?
He looks to be a little big to fit into the compartment that his non-transformable counterpart can. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=166931
Well, I'm not big on the Legends figures, but I bought Scorpy and BB on the way home tonight, on the off chance that I ever get V.Blackout, I'd like him to have a friend. His body, from head to butt, is almost exactly 1.5 inches, and a HAIR over .5 inches wide at its widest part. I don't know what the slug one's measurements are. Maybe we need a bigger Blackout.
Here are some pics I took to show a friend the scale with Deluxes and demonstrate a bit of posability:
Found the Scorponok/BB pack this morning, and tried fitting him into Blackout's minion-cage. No luck, I'm afraid... he's about a half an inch too long, and he's too thick for the cage to click closed. I think it COULD be modded to work, though. Carving away some of the cage, removing some of its bars, you might be able to get him to stay in there. But I think it would be a pretty extensive mod... and you would still definitely still see scorpion legs and claws wrapping around Blackout's fuselage. Having said all that, though, Scorponok is a great little figure. Adorable, posable, and well-scupted and painted. My only gripe is that his legs have a tendency to pop off at the hip if you turn them wrong... but since they're ball joints, you can of course pop them right back in. Incidentally, his bio and Tech Specs are great as well... usually I don't pay those much mind, but I think the Hasbro team nailed this one. It's cute how they mention him being left behind by the Decepticons and trying to lay low. I also like that his Tech Specs list him as having very low intelligence (2), very low rank (3), but very high endurance (8). I get the sense that some actual thought went into assigning the numbers.
