    Rotf ez collection devastator

Finally got my hands on the EZ Collection Devastator from TakaraTomy..

I'm really happy with how the EZ Collection Devastator turned out to be... Looks really impressive.. Once combined, its one solid deluxed size figure... No doubt, it will give the Supreme Class Devastator a run for its money... Saw the Supreme Class today, didn't like it one bit. The only thing that I like abt it is the size, other than that, it looked so bulky and distorted.. If only it was in the same league as the EZ Collection Devastator in terms of posture and sculpt, I wld have definitely gotten it.. Too bad it wasn't.

EZ Collection Devastator consists of 7 Constructicons in individual packages.

    1) Overload
    2) Mixmaster
    3) Rampage
    4) Scavenger
    5) Scrapper
    6) Longhaul
    7) Hightower

Each of the Constructicons have their own individual robot modes. Once combined, the Devastator they form looks really great! This toy is highly recommended!!!

Here are photos of my EZ Collection Devastator... Love it!!! Now if only I have a machine to blow it into Supreme Class size :lol

im not a massive fan of the combined mode but the individual vehicles and bots make it look like a lot of fun. he still works out very expensive compared to the apparently overpriced supreme toy, im still not sure why people feel the big one is overpriced, in terms of plastic (and that is a factor) he probably represents the best value toy on shelves!

im hoping that there will be an eventual G1 repaint.

I'm personally against a G1 repaint. With the bulk of the combined mode, that much lime green would be way too overwhelming. On the supreme class maybe, since they can do more color apps, but this size might look odd.

What's the articulation like for the combined mode? Right now it looks like the shoulders swivel forward and the elbows swing upward. Can it stand on all 4's? Also, how about the legs?

Where does the head come from? Transform from Mixmaster?

Yes, the head is transformed from Mixmaster.

Articulation is pretty limited so it can't do many poses.. No waist articulation and it can't go on all fours. Arms move forward and elbows bend upwards.. No walking movement from the legs but the overall stability of the combined Devastator mode is very good.

If they took the basic design of these guys and (since they are all a similar size) upscaled them to deluxes (add some paint aps, sculpt details and articulation, keeping only the basic transformation scheme for truck>robot>combiner part) it would make a nice compromised gift set at $40 - $50 price point.

Are Longhaul, Overload and Scrapper good as stand alone legends figures?

IMO, no they're not. Don't get me wrong, each of their robot modes look really great especially Scavenger.. But all the 7 Constructicons are meant for combination so I don't think its worth getting it individually as standalone robots.. Its better to get all 7 as a set..

I have these pre-ordered through BBTS and they say they don't come out until November. How did you get these so early?

Over here at Singapore we get Japanese releases usually a few days earlier or on the same day as their official release date at our local specialty toy store. :p

EZ Collection Devastator is pretty much sold out, even though its not weekend yet.

Well I think there are oversized KO in the work, which individual bots are deluxe sized.

Here you go... Devastator with Deluxe Sideswipe and Mudflap.. As you can see, its basically deluxe size.. But don't let the size fool you, it sure looks better than Supreme Class Devastator.
