Just picked up the 360 version today. Goddamn this game is intense.

People (of course) don't really work together as infected, but I tend to hang back and let someone take down a survivor then pounce or snare the team mate who comes to rescue them.

So far I like the forest level the most. The last part of the final act where you're running through a cornfield to the safe house to call for help was crazy. Unfortunatley the survivors didn't make it off the train tracks when we were infected. I snared people from behind the train while our boomer vomitted on them from on top. Our hunter pounced on one but was quickly shot off. It all ended when I snared the first guy who tried to climb the final train car and their shots set off the witch setting below. As survivor's we died waiting for rescue to come in the final house. It was down to three but one guy ran up stairs and was killed before I could get to him, then the Director spawned in a Boomer and Tank which quickly took down my remaining teamate and the boomer exploded engulfing me in a world of decay. I shot Francis in the face multiple times as we lay there dieing.

I also try to scare people. I'll wait just inside a door and pounce as soon as they open it or spawn behind them and take one down when they get rushed. Just so people know, you can pick up propane tanks and gas cans with the X button, then just toss them where ever and blow them up. They work like the pipe bomb and molotov cocktail but dont go in yor inventory.

 

This is one game where the lack of teamwork makes it all the better.

I always shoot the car alarms and then back into a corner. It's great because the horde usually never comes for me.

 

In the first level of No Mercy. Shoot the car, then retreat onto the overturned car you just would have walked past.
9 times out of 10 the infected will ignore you completely, leaving you with clean shots on them.


Also, if you turn off your torch they tend to ignore you too.

 

What difficulty was this on though?

If it was expert it could make that choke point a little easier, if it was one of the lower tiers, w/e.

Oh, this is just wonderful...I finished DLing through Steam...I get into the game to try and play, and it is choppy as hell and the graphics are going berzerk and colors are inverted...have my Graphics card drivers updated

Oh this is great...$50 and I can't play!

 

I just choked Cagliostro out with my tongue of doom. I made him watch the other survivors struggle until I finally gave him his sweet release.

One thing I've noticed is people forget to shoot Hunters/Smokers off their team mates if they're downed. There was a downed guy and another just running around while I was choking Cag and the down guy just shot the few zombies around him, ignoring Cag (he was decently far away though) and the other guy when a hunter pounced on him. Not many people spawn behind the survivors either, it's the easiest way to single someone out.

 

Tied to your Steam account forever though, not like you'll ever have to rebuy when you DO get a new system, or play it at a friends house on their computer.

Okay, definately downloading the full version on Friday from Steam.

 

Yeah, this was just going through on normal. A group I was with tried it on expert and alerted the horde. It didnt end well.

Then I'll be sending the undead back to hell.

 

Twin Twist and I just got our asses kicked on Dead Air. But what a fun ass-kicking it was.  

 

I hope some of you guys are still playing this come Christmas b/c I think my wife bought it for me. She made it pretty clear the other day not to buy the game w/ the GameStop giftcard I got for answering on-line surveys.
