    I didn't see anyone leave.
Maybe they did, but I didn't see them.

But I did see a family leave at the beginning of the second Alvin and the Chipmunks movie when Dave Seville got hurt and they're kid freaked out. :)

I remember a good amount of parents leaving the theater during the Power Ranger & Pokemon movies I went to see, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had more to do with wanting to fuck off & go for a smoke/drink/piss/etc than anything to do with Rodimus' crime against geewooners.

This sounds like an urban legend. Adults leaving a kid movie is probably for other reasons besides protest. The intended audience was kids and teens. As if the death of Optimus Prime was so shocking, it merited a protest or Wheelie so annoying they wanted to leave.

I did the reverse once, walked into a showing of Spaceballs because whatever movie I was seeing wrapped up. Saw everything from the bathroom battle onward.

I don't get why people walk out of theaters while seeing the movie. Even if it's bad, if I already paid for the movie I may as well watch the entire thing. Only exception is if a kid starts crying and the parent has to walk them out or something.

I walked out of ROTF because it sucked, does that count?

But yeah I cried and my mom left with me but we waited outside for my brothers who stayed. I was only 1 1/2 yrs old or something. :p  Probably the first death I ever saw in media.

I couldn't remember all this, but my mother is the type of person who reminds you constantly of all your failures and times you embarrassed her in public. So yeah even if I was a BABY, I still get the "I was so embarrassed, I had to leave the theater with you!" 25+ years later.

I wasn't around during the G1 days but when I did see the movie thanks to the 20th Anniversary DVD, I really didn't cry but was upset at some deaths, mostly Optimus but I sat through the whole thing, does that count?

I remember watching the IMAX version of ROTF and some kid told his mom it was too loud, so they left. That little bastard made his mom pay 2 IMAX tickets and they left right at the start of the movie...... Kids these days are spoiled.

I would've been the guy who cheered when Prime got shot.

That was me in ROTF (well, I wouldn't call it a cheer, it was more of a quiet chuckle). This guy behind me was crying, and apparently made a "gun" with his hand and pointed it at me when I did that, my friend later told me. Yeesh. Some people...:lol

Obviously he wasn't a real fan, otherwise he would've seen it coming. Prime dies at least once in every continuity =P

I stayed and loved it. I remember going home and having a new found love for that crappy Rodimus Prime toy I had gotten weeks before. All of a sudden he was the best figure I had. Good times.
