Maybe not you most favorite, but a game you do enjoy.

For me, in Contra 4, I can't stand the Laboratory level (stage 2). Something about it dearly annoys me, and it's not all that fun until you get to the second half of the stage going up the waterfall.

Another stage would be Megaman's Iceman stage. I can't get through it, period. That game is ridiculously hard, and that's the only stage holding me back from ending it.

And I can't stand Word 3 of Super Mario Bros. 3. Also known as the water stage, it's a terrible stage to me. Not that it's hard, it's nothing but water stages, which I for one hate.

So, as for you all, how 'bout it?

Underwater level from the NES version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Those who have played this know the agony that it presents. To this day i still shudder at the thought of it.

Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway Act 3. I got all the way up to that point in one sitting, and it took me weeks to crack that one stage without dying.

Mass Effect - the fight against that Krogan douche-box and his Geth troops right after you rescue Liara. Took me days to beat that the first time.

Water levels in sonic - particuarly the chemical plant zone in sonic 2.

The submarine bit in Earthworm Jim.

Levels in Call of Duty with a high amount of exploding effing barrels (I thought we'd grown up past that...) and a high chance of random deaths due to random grenades and explosion.

Also, it's not so much a level as a thing, but that thing that happens, primarily in shooters, where instead of fighting the army the player is part of, every single enemy and gun on the enemy side targets the player. annoys the hell out of me with it's lazyness.

-Not the whole level, but the part in Half Life 2 Episode 2 where you gotta evade from that green Antlion guard 'cuz you can't kill it. The rest of the level is fun but I hate running from that guy because he's damn violent and I always JUST miss the little hole I need to run to. (suprise buttsecks no welcome)

-Croc's lair from Batman Arkham Asylum. SO boring and tedious. The first time I played through I thought it was kinda creepy and suspenseful, but I just kept putting him down so many times any suspense was long gone by the time he first started breaking the planks, and it was still boring.

-And the last level of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. There's a lot I hate here, like the huge swath of walkers, purge troopers and snipers followed by never-ending waves of troopers with Purge Trooper escort at the very beginning. Their stupid heat-seeking rockets tossing me around not even giving me a chance to figure out how I'm supposed to force-bend the floor.

And once I finally escape that hell I have to play groundhog in the Death Star's firing tube before coming to a quite unfair puzzle where I have to force grip three spinning rings to exend a bridge over a gap, cross the gap and find cover in the few seconds before the damn thing fires again and sends the rings spinning again.

And then when I'm finally out I'm in a huge room with seven of those firing beams, plus walkers, snipers, jet troopers and those damn purge troopers. THEN, once I go up the frustratingly slow lift which I have no control over (yet enemies can still hurt me) I get to where I need to go only to end up fighting like five of those stupid lightsabre guards who just knock me right off the platform into one of the beams! Fuck that! Fuckit I say. Fuck.

Any escort mission where the vulnerable target races off ahead and bloodthirstily engages anything in sight, giving me toss-all chance of protecting it. See various Grand Theft Autos, Fallout 3, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter...

Level 5 of Legend of Zelda, Quick Man's level of Mega Man 2, Vega(at first) on Street Fighter 2, Gnomeregon in World of Warcraft, probably others that I can't think of.

Car chases in GTA IV, especially ones where you're driving on a motorcycle. I still haven't beat the game because all the missions I had involved me chasing someone down.
