Has anybody painted primes glass? I saw a post somewhere and can't remember, but it mentioned that the "mech-alive" parts really took away from the over all look of Prime.

I actually think that is true. So what do you guys think?

I am looking for pictures of ROTF Leader Prime with his windows painted black or something and trying to see what everyone thinks about it. Is it better or worse.

Here's mine, I used automotive DIY window tint film. You can still see the leds through it pretty well but it hides the plastic look of the gears.

I think it makes him look a lot better.

I prefer it tinted as well rather than seeing all the plastic gears back there. IMO painting the plastic gears (and leaving the windshield clear) is worse. I tinted mine using acrylic smoke gray but they came out darker than what I had planned.

I do think that the gears do not really look that good now that I have seen this!!!

I say tinted like Hakka did above. I don't care for the plastic gears, but tinting the windows a bit and maybe chroming those parts a bit would make it look much better than factory.

You could go with tamiya's clear smoke and make the windows slightly tinted taking some of the focus off of those gears yet still allowing them to be seen. Hakka's windows, while great, look a bit TO dark for my tastes. They're so dark they still distract you from the figures overall look.

I used the darkest film available, there were 3 lighter shades available. I originally bought it to tame some very bright leds on my home theater system, which is why I went for the darkest available.
