Apparently, Detroit Lions wide receiver Roy Williams has chosen the nickname Megatron for fellow Lions receiver Calvin Johnson. I didn't catch today's actual game, but in the highlight footage they showed on TV, they showed a shot of Williams holding Leader Megs on the sideline and introducing it to the camera. Yeah, they did a side by side comparison to Megs and Calvin during the game too. On a side note I still don't see megatron when they do a head shot of the character from the film. 200 million+ movie or not G1 is still the Megatron I hold dear.
They also compared C.Johnson to Megatron during the game. Height, weight and home planet. It was pretty funny. Go Lions!!
Because Movie Megs looks real and scary? Maybe because right now the movie's version is still fresh in peoples mind. Still, only fitting they use the coolest version.

Hey, the name is appropriate, like the in the G1 cartoon, the Decepticons get close, but always lose. That sums up the Lions pretty well, except for the part where they get close.
I caught that. I couldn't belive it at first. I thought what?! Why are they talking about Megs? Then they were calling the player Megatron all throughout the game. What a kick ass nickname to have. Transformers has pretty much proliferated every aspect of my life now.
