My first Leader Class; Still have a lot to do but here's what I have so far.

UPDATE: Well, I finished this leg and the main gun, I just primed the other leg and will finish that tomorrow. I can't wait to see this thing back together again.

Quick Question: If I seal it in a gloss vs flat, will it alter what it actually is now or will it make it either more glossy with the gloss or more flat looking with the flat. I just want it exactly how it is.

UPDATE: Finished Megatron's legs. Added the blue lights (I know autobots right) and 'some' gold accented parts here and there...didn't want to go crazy with the gold. Anyway, this is what I have so far.

Strange but the leg when it's taken off kinda ressembles the Terminator Salvation Motorcycles (just with treads though).

No I actually fully prime it. I just didn't do the back leg at all yet cause I wanted to use it as a comparison.

wow man, thats really nice looking. as for your gloss/flat question, you kind of answered it in your own way. Yes, the gloss would probably make it MORE glossy, and yes the flat would dull the finish. If you want something in between they do make a semi-gloss clear which will probably make the paint look like a plasticy finish.. I would think. your best bet would to prime and paint 3 scraps of plastic and try each one out to see which you like the best.

    Update

Thanks! I finished it for now and will assemble it shortly. I won't be sealing it yet because after it's assembled I may touch it up here and there with a bit more detail (thinking mostly on the thrusters). I did attempt a dirty thruster surrounding area as I wanted to mimic burnt fuel.

It's put back together but I'll touch it up still here and there I am sure.

Thanks Sentinalsupreme, I just wish I knew how to install thruster LEDS. I want to do Prime next but it'll be a while before I do that, I want to get an airbrush pretty soon for it.

Thanks Guys, it prolly took me a total of about 8-9 hours taking apart, priming, painting, waiting to dry, fine tuning, and assembly. It wasn't too bad though because while I was waiting for this one to dry on certain parts, I was detailing and finishing his other parts here and there.

I only wish I could get a better hand as some guys do without cutting and modding it and I wish I could do those thrusters. I have no electrical inclination at all. Thanks again guys!

I sure will, it's too much fun! I keep looking at my Leader Optimus Prime and it's screaming to be painted!!

By the way Superquad7, good movie you got there in your post, Gran Turino - that's the scene where his son is trying to get him to move to a retirement community and he gets pissed, nice!
