it's probably because the face has a gimmick, like how the supreme animated optimist prime talks and moves his face shield.
After the amazing turd that was Leader Class movie Megs last time round, I want to see a LOT more pics of this toy (and a lot of pics out-of-package) before I even consider thinking it's not crap.
Hmm only dislike is how the tank looks. Suffers just like Blitzwing's tank mode, it's too tall height-wise and too short lengthwise. Cybertronian tennis ball machine, as Vangelus would suggest.
It looks nicer in bot mode but that tank is a bit crap looking. I'll get it on clearance, never bothered with first movie Megs.
Hmm, not bad at all. The left arm still looks weird Looks like I have to buy all 3 Leader class now T.T
Eh, good to see it at last and it's a lot better then the first but like the first it's unimpressive when compared to the respective Prime figure. These cybertronian modes just seem to allow for lazy designs that barely transform.
Oh god YES! NOW I KNOW THAT I DIDN'T GET THE FIRST ONE, FOR IT WAS DESTINY! Also is it just me or they're real threads? Why Hasbro loves to give us rubber threads all out of sudden? I'm sad because, yknow, with time they'll just rip off! Edit: Or not! Looking at the toy better, I can see that the legs ain't made of rubber tires for the foot transforms from it! It's normal generic plastic! YAY!
Cool, the mould itself looks good (will need painting properly tho, as with all the Movie toys). Be interested to see how much articulation it has, whether the cannon arm also has a hand, etc etc. Intriguing! Hopefully we'll see the Jetfire toy soon...
I was hoping for a better alt-mode. The tank in the design pictures was more TransTech, while this one's more...lumpy. Either way, it's still a nice figure. The gimpy arm looks odd compared to the murder arm, but there'll be an explaination for it, hopefully. And the head in alt-mode is probably a false 'mask', like with Cybertron Metroplex. Turn it around and the real head shows. In all honesty, I really wish they'd skip the gimmicks and electronics and make LC figures more along the line of Masterpiece. With Megatron, it seems like his torso is bulked up to make room for circuitry and electronics. If these things weren't added, I'd bet the tank would look better.
Tank mode is...meh. Looked alot cooler in the concept art. Robot mode is super-fine though. Will definitely get him.
Yea, when I was a kid myself I cared more for show accuracy and looking badass then some lights and sounds. Maybe I'm just more imaginative.
The big one! Finally! And I'm impressed, I must say. It's true that tank mode isn't as impressive as the concept art - neither the treads nor the cannon look large enough, given the height of the tank - but the robot mode is really terrific. The change from jet to tank fixes the main problem I had with the first Leader's bot mode, namely the colossal, unsightly wing kibble, and allows for a much more CGI-accurate physique. And I LOVE the arms; the assymetrical look fits perfectly with the "rebuilt from cannibalised corpses" origin, both arms look menacing and creepy in their own way, and most importantly of all it restores the classic oversized cannon arm look that really sells this as a Megatron to me. So yeah, I'm impressed so far; very keen to see more of this dude out of packaging, so I can see his gimmicks and features. With Leader Prime's figure having real Cullen speech this time round, it'd be especially neat if Leader Megs had actual Hugo Weaving samples to match...we'll see, though. (Oh, and it'd also be nice to see his head. Just saying, y'know.)
