Hey savio, does the elbow mod hinder the sword gimmick?

wow, I might have to do that elbow mod... it adds a LOT of range, and only needs to have the plastic removed along the sculpt right?

you say it's just two lego ratcheting joint parts? how did you attach them so they can bend without breaking loose?

were there any other mods to the fender parts or is it just the new piece and it's pin that allows them to swivel into the proper place? how strong does that part need to be? I am thinking I might be able to get a part machined at a hardware store, if all that is needed is the additional piece.

I just finally got around to doing this today! Worked great and it was a big improvement.
I am just a tiny bit worried about that single screw in each shoulder stripping if I mess with the shoulders a lot, but I don't mess with mine much and have only transformed it once so hopefully that won't be a problem.

    Thanks SavioPrime!

Sorry I did not see this post until just now.

I removed or reshaped the underside of the elbow, removing the four tabs that register its position into the forearm.

Then I cut down the Lego hinges to size so they fit and conform to the bottom of the elbow.

Getting the precise location for the other side of the Lego hinge that goes into the forearm was, well... a bit more tricky lol.

As far as the new hinges for his back side, I can make you a set if you would like. I'm not quite at production stage yet, but I'm not that far away from it either.

The design is pretty much completed and has tested well. Its position holds well and firm in both modes, and the parts work smoothly. Though not fragile, there are small parts so I wouldn't be overly aggressive with it. The parts are quite sturdy.

I will create installation notes as well. It's really simple and doesn't take much time at all. You just need a screw driver, drill bit, and something to shave off the end of the fender's connector that plugs into the tool box.

Ok. Right now I'm going to begin production on 10 sets of the new back hinges. I will probably need this week and next week to complete the sets. 2 weeks is an approximation, of course. When I am ready I will post a new thread for those that want to buy it.

A kit... hmmm. Maybe I could offer the wheel sliders and the wheel cover hinges as a "set" too.

Here is what they look like uninstalled on Prime. Two photos to show the truck mode set up and the bot mode set up.

I made three sets tonight in dark gray, pins and screws all assembled.

I will be starting a new order thread soon for these fender hinge parts. Currently I have enough parts and hardware to assemble 40 sets of the rear fender hinges.
