if there is a leader starscream they nee make the jet mode sleek and with 0 kibble. I hate it when things are fudged on the transform too. With out much trying they could make a pretty cool SS leader with out having to do to much I just want it to look like a jet and then look like the movie SS but I get the feeling theat cannot happen as when you compare the things like the cockpit of the raptor to the size of SS in the movie. He actually gets larger than the raptor in robot mode. basically he has more mass cause the cockpit looks tiny on him but in jet mode its pretty substntial.
Hands would be nice. As would a overabundance of spring loaded weapons, Mech Alive, a sleek jet mode, and a electronic movie accurate voice. Another thing is to get the cyberglyph tatoos the takara voyager has.
Optimus Prime. He has electronics and is still one of the most complex and ACCURATE movie figures I've ever seen.
Do you know how hard it is to engineer a jet-mode transformer with no kibble, especially when you have to add electronics? Please demonstrate to me how easy it would be.
RotF Leader Optimus Prime looks set to me one of the singularly most awesome toys ever to grace my shelves. The new Megatron, if nothing else, is an improvement on the TF1 version. Jetfire is a little "meh", but I think he'll grow on me. A Leader Starscream is very much a good thing, I think. However, has this been actually confirmed somewhere? In terms of what he does, I would like to see the ability to turn his hand into the missile launcher used in the first film in addition to the usual lights and sounds (under the proviso that his transformation and construction are not compromised). I believe that Starscream is definitely deserving of a Leader-class mold. After all, he spent several thoudans years -- and the last two years since Megatron's death -- as the Decepticon leader! I would love for this to happen. I would definitely buy a Leader Starscream even though I have the Voyager from TF1 and will buy the RotF version, too. However, as has been pointed out, there are normally only three Leader molds. But, that said, Hasbro has been saying how they'd like to continue this line for a while. After the three Leaders, Devastator, and the new version of Ultimate Bumblebee, there are no big-ticket items. New Leader molds seems the obvious solution to that problem. Especially if one of those molds is Starscream who can be repainted and slightly altered into the other Seekers.
Usually we only get three new-mould leaders with two repaints, so I'm not sure about Starscream, but maybe since there's so much money from the first movie they're put more into it.
I wasn't even going to get the new Voyager Starscream (I'm not big on the tattoos), so I'll pass on a Leader unless it knocks my socks off.
There's a first time for everything. I mean, you easily could have said that no toyline has ever had a $100 combiner set that lacks individual robot modes. "It's never happened before" hardly makes something impossible. And it's not really a case of toylines being limited to three molds only, but rather only having the budget for three new Leader-class molds each year. What are we getting in 2010? More Animated, renewed Universe, more ROTF, or something completely new? We don't know yet, but I think it's entirely possible for us to get further new mold ROTF Leader figures as the line continues. If we do, Starscream is at the top of the list. (So is the Fallen, too, of course.) The first movie toyline was an unexpected success, and the Allspark Power line and Premium line had to be created to provide new products into the second year. I expect Hasbro is anticipating a success on par with the first film already, and thus has set forth better plans than relying heavily on excessive, redundant repaints as the line continues. Also, everyone expressing disinterest at the prospect of a Leader Starscream in this thread will receive a knife in the neck within the next two to six weeks. People actively hoping the figure isn't produced can expect theirs the soonest. EDIT: I almost immediately felt bad for that 'knife' thing and would like to preemptively take it back. I'm not really that angry, just a movie-Starscream fan who's a wee bit bemused+peeved at the same time.
I want to be able to push a button and hear : megatronm has fallen I am the new decpeticon leader and if you pressonhis foot hard you hear: OW! my foot!
