So for those who really know me, you'll realise I'm a Decepticon fan at heart, with a particular liking for the movie Decepticons that didn't really get a lot of screen time. I just find their designs really attractive!

    Sideways, the Dreads, etc...

As fate has it, these bit players don't usually get a lot of respect from Hasbro in terms of toy representation. The figures we get are usually deluxe sized, inaccurate and not awesome at all.

I started this thread as I just got an idea to convert Leader Ironhide into Crankcase or Crowbar. The arrangement of car parts on the bot modes are almost similar, so it should be a simple matter to resculpt the existing pieces.

Also, at this larger scale, we can have more space to play with things like spikes, dreadlocks, add-on spiky weapons, etc.

    What do you guys think?

Same as what everyone else said. The Decepticons got some awesome designs in the movie (that giant four legged one in the chicago fight scene was awesome! any one seen any concept art of that?) with the dreads being way cooler than when I originally heard about them.
Are you going to make one the "beast" version? (sorry, i can't remember whos who in the names).

    Randy!

If I can get my hands on a Ldr IH, I'll probably start off with Crowbar first (the one with the long dreads). He looks the most awesome of the 3. And if I still have enough energy and cash, Crankcase (The pincer guy) and last, Hatchet (dog.)

I'd think you'd be better off getting model kits and kitbashing some robots.

I'm certainly interested to see what you come up with :)

I like the idea, and I'm sure the robot modes will turn out great, but can you change the Topkick into a Chevy surburban that easily?

FB, were you able to get your hands on a Leader IH? I think there's one that I can get here locally.

The only issue I have is the truck itself you'd be better off, scale wise, grabbing some voyager Ironhides and converting them to Saburbans. The topkick is as tall as some semis, and nearly as long. Where as the new Sub, is very small compared to even previous versions. Not saying it cant work, but id leave Ldr Ironhides out of it.
