LEADER CLASS BRAWL REALISTIC ABRAMS M1 A1 / leaopard 2 version

Hi I have wanted to do this figure for ages !!! Im reworking a leader brawl into a abrams M1/lepoard 2 crossover tank and trying to make him as realistic as possible. I have started by sanding down a few edges and filling two gaps on the side panels using eboxy
I have removed the second gun turret in keeping with the abrams appearance and left the sound and light working in the main gun which has been altered.
I have cut out the sections between the wheels to give a more accurate look and I will be using parts from a abrams model kit to build up the detail on top of the turret and elsewhere.
He will have plenty of weathering including sloppy wet look muddy tracks as well as some light battle damage and general wear.

For bot mode I plan to give him a few changes but I'm still working on ideas....

The mine-sweepers differentiate it from an ordinary tank. Keep 'em!

As you said, you wanted to make it as realistic as possible and from the tank pic, it doesn't have them so I would get rid of them
But if you wanna differentiate it a bit then leave them on there
It depends on wat u want it to look like :)

    Mine sweeper

I found this pic of an abrams with the mine sweepers so I'm going to leave them. They also form a large part of the transformation so I cant remove that section anyway.

Nice start, I like how you are making changes to the original figure. I'm finishing up mine, but I believe ours will be very different.

There are some M1 modified with the mind sweepers. I guess it's just what you want it to be.

    new pics

finally got my model kit and I have started cutting up sections to fit onto brawl. I'm using epoxy to merge the new pieces onto the figure, I have loads more parts to add including jerry cans, ammo crates etc..

I would suggest cutting down the mine sweepers a little bit. That might make them look closer to the real thing. The ones on the toy are a little cartoonish compared to the real pic you have there.

What section between the wheels are you talking about that you cut out?

What model kit are you using? I might have to look into that for mine. Those add on parts are starting to look nice. Is that 1/35 scale?

hi yes I plan to cut down the sweepers for the wheels I simply cut out some of the plastic between the wheels so they dont look like factory moulded sections. I have only done them roughly till I get my new dremel 4000 lol!!! I used 1/35 and it was a fairly expensive ITALERI kit I used. cheers for you comment!

I'd personally leave the sweepers as is, the real ones are huge. Plus they'll look alot more realistic when you paint it

lol! Badly wrong mate, I'm German and I could say that brawl is totally based on a m1a1 Abrahams not on a leopard 2!

Also brawls tank mode wasn't used the first time in a movie, there another action blockbuster where this tank model was used on a aircraft carrier, but I forgot the title.

Andy: great start on the details, cannot wait to see more :)

Actions Speak Louder than Words,BRAWL is a hybrid.

Tank chassis from LEOPARD2, As shown in Figure.

Tank turret looks more like LEOPARD2......

Only a shovel to be from M1A1
