My latest transformable modification goes to Leader Class Ironhide! I removed the kibble from his arms and attached them to the fenders using super glue, nylon hinges, a .05 thousand drill bit, small screws, and washers!

    1. Cut off the hinge behind his wrists.

    2. Remove the hinge from the door panels.

    3. Trim up the nylon hinge on one side, and cut slots on the other side.

    4. Super glue the short side of the hinge to the bottom of the fender.

    5. Position the door panel to the fender, and drill 2 holes on the inside - aligned to the two slots - using the .05 drill bit. Do not drill all the way through!

    6. Insert the screws and washers into the holes.

One side done, the other unmodded:

This kind of hinge allows the side panels to swing outward for the transformation, and inward for the bot mode. There are two options for setting the new shoulder parts: over or under the front bumper!

Thanks guys. Total labor time including brainstorming took about an hour. Had a different idea to attach them directly to his back but I misjudged the needed space for the existing gray hinge.

I actually did this mod in anticipation of receiving them this week... Although I am not all too certain I will be able to "store" the blades behind the shoulders as seen in pics, but the cannons are what I want to emphasize! I'll post pics once I get the kit and can install them.

I use magnets to store the arm kibble on IH's back/roof in robot mode. Thanks to the mech tech ports being on hinged pieces, I'm still able to store the FWI2 swords on his back.
