Recently we saw Lazerbeak in the Superbowl and Nascar trailers. But something odd is going on about where he is.

For one. Theres snow. So this can't be Chicago where its summer.

Also Theres a really old and broken looking Ferris wheel not to mention the vines growing on the building behind the car.

And don't forget Optimus, Ironhide and Lennox's trip to Ukraine.

What can we gather from this? Ukraine, abandoned Ferris wheel and vine covered buildings, Snow.

Chernobyl. The City that had experienced a nuclear meltdown at a plant during the Soviet era. Leads me to think its decepticon related in the movie.

    Any thoughts?

Possible! Decepticon base of operations in an environment completely uninhabitable to humans?

Major props to the OP on a compelling theory. No part of it doesn't make sense.

Wow, some very compelling points. I'll be surprised if that scene is NOT set in Chernobyl. Well done. :thumb

Hopefully the score has a heavy vocal orchestra like with the infinite white score from the ROTF score. That made the Petra scene really good. Applying such to a scene of Lennox, Optimus and Ironhide exploring the remains of this city would be great.

Even have optimus remark on the disregard that was taken for the lives of the innocent.

That would make more sense than having a ferris wheel at a power plant. But hey, suspension of disbelief right?

Chernobyl is anything but uninhabited. The other units 1,2 & the adjacent #3 until operated for years until 2000.
The place is crawling with scientists and techs monitoring contamination. And trying to figure out how to maintain containment both short and long term.
Probably one of the most monitored places on the face of the earth.
The ferris wheel and the vehicles do appear native to the Soviet town of Prypiat. For a Russian, Prypiat was a upscale place to live and work.

Interesting theory. Might also make sense too because during the chernobyl incident in real life, several survivors and witnesses reported seeing a dark winged figure in the air over the power plant. Maybe they decided to put the scenario in the movie: what if that hovering figure was actually Lazerbeak, lol.

Yeah, Ferris wheel is in Pripyat, not Chernobyl. Now I have an urge to jump into my STALKER boots.

Def seems like a plausible theory that Lazerbeak is introduced from Russia.

This is really one of the better theories ive heard for DOTM so far, great job Starscream.

Id truly just like to see another 2 minute trailer with some more footage of Lazerbeak, as hes one of my fav all time Cons and fav cassette.
