and it should be USAF 4500X not BLKOUT 4500X.

 

  The Lawson page says Blackout is going to be darker, non-glossy gray. I hope the final product is closer to the item description. (Not that I am buying it, though.)

 

Still looks plasticky. The white is a little too much for me. Vehicle mode is nice though.

 

The little markings on the tail are neat.... as is the painted Scorponok.... but otherwise, I really prefer the original. Adding MORE light grey doesn't do this figure any favors.

 

The only good part about that is the Scorponok that it has. I have seen better ones the were Kitbashes.

 

I agree, some kitbashes/customs blow this thing away. I personall think they screwed blackout by making him so small, he shouldve been a leader class.

I kinda dig the light gray on the legs, and of course Scorponok looks accurate and the 4500X markins on the tail are great ... but it's still too close to the original to interest me.

It requires more paint, doesn't look too metallic to me.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of our Movie Premium toys.

I was thinking the same thing. Slap some yellow around the chest, and some red around the wrists, and you'd be good to go.

EDIT: Actually, if they threw in a remolded head, I'd buy that figure as movie Soundwave...

 

Some part of me will always believe it was only fandom bitching that made this guy not be Soundwave. Someone heard he was going to be a helicopter and threw a MAJOR HISSY FIT about it. I remember it pretty vividly.

And frankly, Blackout should have been Soundwave. Into communications (it's after the files!), carries a smaller partner, and is a major badass.

 

Already covered. it's standard practice on test shots for the wrong insignia to be applied. Quite often even having Autobot symbols stamped in purple, or decepticon symbols in red, to make it even more obvious.
