Sorry is this was already mentioned, but this is ultra cool.

The first solid planet has been discovered, close in size to that of the Earth. 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit surface temperature, 20 hour orbit around its sun (moves at 466,000 mph). Nicknamed the "Lava Planet".

I read that article this morning on Yahoo. Pretty cool. I sure hope that they find more Earth-like planets, ones that could hopefully contain and sustain life.

Ok, and when it burns out because of its proximity to the sun, I claim all future rights to the dead, burned out planet and from that moment on it will be known as Char...

    :lol  Awesome!

It's in reference to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and the explanation of how Darth Vader went from being human to his more familiar form.

    And there's your answer! :)

It refers to the end of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith when Anakin Skywalker, then Darth Vader is crawling up the bank of a lava river on Mustafar after being on fire and having his legs and an arm cut off.

Yeah, I remember reading about a solid planet they found close to a star that had such a theoretically high surface temperature that it's atmosphere would be vapourous metals.
