Friday is the last new episode, before Conze takes a bunch of months off, moves to Los Angeles, and takes over The Tonight Show. Been a big fan of the show since probably year 1, so it's kind of a bittersweet week. Glad Conan is moving up the ladder, but the new, earlier timeslot means the dynamic of the show is most assuredly going to change - and probably not for the best.

Either way, anyone else here a fan? Thoughts on the final week, the move, etc?

As happy as I am for my favorite writer/host to be getting the late night gig of a lifetime, I'm wondering how "family friendly" NBC will urge him to be? I hope this isn't the last we'll see of the Masturbating Bear and Co.

Whatever happens, I'm sure this week will be a sight to see. And to poop on.

Yes he's moving up the ladder but the Leno added a few rungs to it.

I dunno, NBC inadvertently made a smart play there though. They kept Jay out of the 11:35 competition at Fox or ABC. They keep him happy, and eliminate their failing 10pm genre timeslots every night in one fell swoop (and will finally be able to compete against CSI etc etc). AND, if Conan fails too miserably, they can maybe even change it all back by keeping Jay in their pocket too. ALSO, the best part, if Jay's 10pm show totally flops, his likelihood of having a successful show competing against Conan will be slim as no other network will want him as badly then, and they can get rid of him once and for all and completely take him off the network playing table (Jay and a cable or HBO show would be a better fit I think).

I'm not saying NBC is smart enough to have come up with this strategy on purpose, but it's going to work out in their favor for sure, no matter which way it goes.

I stopped watching it once the writers came back. I love Conan, but after watching him and the show while it had no writers, it just made the show seem a lot worse once they came back. No writers + Conan = GOLD!

I use to love Conan back in high school, but then Andy left and the show was never the same IMO. All the best to him though.

I like Conan, but now watching him is going to happen less often. Letterman is still the king for me. Especially after his recent Blagjovich and Joquain Phoenix interviews :lol

I also really dig Kimmel too.

So did they move up his taking over the Tonight Show? I thought he was suposed to take over for a few more years. I'm wanting to say 2011, 2012, or 2015 was the date Conan said when he first announced it. I don't remember exactly, but I do remember it being in the 2010s.

But in the meantime NBC has two shows in LA competing for guests.
Both of those where amazing but the Phoenix was epic.

    IIRC he's starting June 1st.

I heard that the Masturbating Bear was officially retired the other week. Sad if true/permanent. I'd hate to see Conan have to "family friendly" up his show due to the new time slot (also hate to see Fallon take his old spot).

I had stopped watching Conan before that (I used to watch him every night but it got to the point that I could pretty much see where all the jokes were going and that got stale quickly) but I came back to watch him during the strike and it really was the best his show had been in years (the culmination of the Conan, Stewart, Colbert battle was epic!). I quickly gave up on it again once the writers came back :(

Still I will check him out this week, if to just enjoy the show for one more week.

I laughed so hard at the bloopers they showed... I think it was Wednesday nights show. I also loved the Robot/Abe Lincoln montage they had.

Yeah I loved that they replayed the siren one as part of the blooper one. I remember when that episode actually aired. It was hilarious mostly because they had no control of what was happening.

Btw on that episode did anyone else half expect Chuck Norris to appear when they pulled out the Walker Texas Ranger clip lever out.

Good final episode tonight. Loved the 1860's baseball clip and the return of Andy Richter.

I caught the last third to half of it. It was good. His speech at the end was very touching. I noticed he went five minutes over too.
