I beat God of War today, though, it didn't feel like it was an ending since there was no actual final boss to fight at the end. The reveal of who Atreus is was pretty awesome though. Surprisingly though, despite having completed the story, I only have 42% of the trophies, what the hell? Honestly though, I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do them all as the trials in Musphihelm and Nifhelm are quite boring and/or frustrating without being fun. I will go after the last dragon and attempt to take out the remaining 4 Valkyries I have to do though once I find them. Overall, it was a good game hindered by too many half baked ideas, which ultimately knocks it down to being the weakest for the four main entires into the series. Better than the PSP games, but they have a lot to work on for the no brainer sequel they are making. I just hope they fully flesh out their ideas this time as I feel like the game was rushed to the market. I give it a 7/10.

I have achieved something I never thought I would.. I beat METROID (original NES) last night for the first time ever, lol. I know I know.. it has been around since 1986.. But when this came out, I did not own the NES and I only played it on my friends' until I finally got one. And I never got this game. And it was amazing how easily you get lost in that game, lol. I beat Super Metroid way before this! Anyway, the last lair is a pain in the butt. The first time I got to Mother Brian, i had FULL everything, and i got knocked into teh lava in front of her and could never get back out.. was PISSED!!! Spent like 20 minutes to power up again after continuing... and got stuck in lava while metroids had latched on to me.. But, I finally did it. I would say this is a 7/10, due to no map and the difficulty.

Yeah, I know what you mean, just with a different game.
I could not finish the original Castlevania no matter how much I played it. The Grim Reaper at the end of the 5th stage would always destroy me. I got so frustrated I sold the game.

A few years later, after finishing Castlevania 3 and loving it, I found a used copy of CV at a game store for cheap. I beat that f***er in one day. Being older, wiser, and more experienced with games can have its benefits :D

Platinumed God of War today. I don't know why, but having to complete stuff after the story is over just feels underwhelming. There should have been one more boss fight or something for getting 100% completion.

Castlevania Lament of Innocence: This was a fun game, and the first 3D game I've played since Castlevania 64... Not a bad title, but I will say this, whipping onto rails and posts in 3D to get to higher platforms is a massively annoying finicky bit of coding that makes it really frustrating with the trial and error element. Boss Battles aren't too terrible, but some of the difficulty curves can be infuriating when you aren't sure where you're going. And unlike the 2D games, there are a lot of empty rooms, which makes the fighting seem to be rather tamer compared to some of the precision platformers of the early Castlevania era.

I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10, the story and the game itself aren't terrible, but some of the issues with the whip and the utter repetitiveness of the rooms with so many empty corridors makes the game a bit tedious, especially with the backtracking element. On top of that there is no stat leveling in this game, seriously you give us stats and no real way to increase them because there's no experience in this game. A far cry from the likes of Symphony of the Night.

I really liked LoI, especially its music and design layout.

Yeah, music wasn't bad and the cgi models looked great, but after thirty attempts in a row that whipping up onto higher platforms was a bitch compared to the seamlessness of 2d style whipping. A dedicated targeting reticle would have made that play feature way better.

I finally (after 18 years???) beat Zelda: Majora's Mask for N64 last night... I tried it way back when and didn't understand/hated the time concept of it. Plus I always hated n64 graphics... But, in my quest to beat all of the older games I have, in order, this one was sitting there in my way. I gotta say.. I still think it sucks. It is by far my least favorite Zelda game :(  The time component still blows. The SAVE component is the worst thing in the history of gaming. I spent over two hours getting 5,000 rupees and doing other things for a side quest... SAVING and Quitting multiple times throughout.. only to have the game completely go back to day 1 after I messed up and had to reset the game. Finally, I said screw that and just ignored that stuff and beat it. Played a bit of Twilight Princess before bed and it is so much better. Eff You, Majora's Mask.. Oh and the ending was garbage after all that hassle anyway!?!?! 4/10

    Ghost Trick
    [IMG]

Basically perfect. Loved everything about it. The timeless graphics, the colorful and yet noir style, the slick and efficient presentation, the dialogue and animations and character designs, the fair difficulty, the masterful handling of tone, the music and its usage and progression, the integration of gameplay and story. It's rare for a story to have SO many mysteries and then ACTUALLY deliver surprising and satisfying revelations with a little bow on top. Extremely well handled balance between text and game. The backgrounds deserve special mention for how its used in gameplay as well, it's so clear and lively and expressive while also being extremely functional mechanically. There is a dog.

Absolutely loved it. Ghost Trick is a game anyone can play and enjoy.

    Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines(PS2)-2.5/10
You have to reallyyyyyy like Terminator to even get a fraction of joy from this game, it's a very short game with very little depth, terrible graphics(I had to turn my tv's brightness up due to the game not even having the option), not even accurate terminator models(they didn't get the license for only the models somehow) and mediocre/iffy controls. It's also incredibly short.
    Hulk Ultimate Destruction(PS2)-8.5/10
Just as fun as I remember, with similar quality and gameplay to Prototype(a game from the same developer years later). Tons of destruction and content, with a great voice cast(using the 90's cartoon Bruce and Ron Perlman as Abomination). If I had to complain about anything, it'd be that I wish you could track collectibles better, as I only need one more for classic grey Hulk. Also a tiny nitpick is I wish Hulk talked more than once(besides screaming).
    Iron Man(PS2)-6/10
This game is no technological masterpiece, with alotta crap animations and clipping through things, but there's slight fun to be had. Flying takes a bit to get used to, but once you do it's serviceable, and shooting and changing weapons feels fine. This game also has some unlockables, which are suits(ofc), and slight variations/upgrades to your main weapons, which are fun to test and give a fun reason to go through some levels again. Sadly though, all there is is story, but its a serviceable length.
    X-Men Origins: Wolverine(PS3)-8/10
Best Wolverine game yet, with great graphics and gameplay. Only complaints are it gets repetitive and there's not much to do after story.
    Batman Arkham Aslylum(PS3)-9/10
There's not much to say about this that hasn't been said, it's great. I played it first with Return to Arkham on PS4, but my friend borrowed my Arkham Origins and broke it so he gave me Asylum for PS3 and $10, so I got bored and platinumed it again lol.
    Lego Batman 2(PS3)-7/10
A very fun game, with a ton of content. Only issues are some iffy flight controls and some trophy related glitches(dealing with vehicle spawn ins).

I also went and unlocked all the fighters and completed the "stories" for Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and Deception for PS2. MKD is definitely a more fun single player experience, as it had and actual story and fun modes, while MKDA's "story" is just tutorials for each character. MKD's story is a fun full of MK eastereggs adventure, letting you explore all the realms. In it, the gameplay loop is basically run around in free roam until you find the next person to fight, which it then just enters into normal 3D MK vs gameplay, but in the free roam worlds, there's plenty of puzzles and jobs to do for koin to use in the krypt for costumes and characters. MKD also has a Tertis clone(puzzle kombat) and a weird but fun chess kombat. Both of these I played recently with friends, and it got oddly intense :D . In regards to the vs gameplay, MKD is just MKDA but better but also minus impales. I was going to play Mortal Kombat Annihilation but sadly it appears my disc is broken(it always freezes in the awesome intro cutscene).

I'm playing Bioshock again. This will be my.. umpteenth venture to Rapture, but seriously this game really is everything that it was meant to be. Amazing design, style, sound, story, and execution. 12 out of 10. And it still holds up when played on an Xbox One (it's the original 360 edition of the game).

Tales from the Borderlands and Telltale Walking Dead S1 including 400 Days. Frankly, I enjoye TFBD more than WD. It made me feel sadder at certain stuff than WD(except the ending. Both games made me shed a tear in this moment) I guess it's because TFBD has a bit better timing with sad stuff. WD just keeps on one scheme-you met a guy and then this guy dies in the same or another episode-rewind. Luckily, both games had something great to offer. TFBD gives great feel of adventure and action, meanwhile WD makes trusting the others real digficult. On the one side some of characters are jerks, but on the other side they have good reasons. Also both games had good storylines. I will give: TFBD 9/10
    WD 7.5/10(Season1)
    WD 400 Days 5.5/10
Stories in that seemed a bit rushed and the ending was meh.

    Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
    7/10

A major improvement over Harmony of Dissonance. Exploration was fun again instead of a head-scratching chore.
Gameplay was great, but the story and characters were disposable.
For the most part, the level design is great, but I felt there were more than a few times where areas were just dead ends with nothing to find. Kind of annoying to mow through a long hallway only to find a wall at the end. No secret passages, no items to find. Just a dead end. I feel like the layout of Symphony of the Night was better in that regard- I didn’t feel like I was being sent down empty halls for no reason nearly as much in that one.

Anyway- good stuff. Worth the purchase.

    Mega Man 11
Pretty decent. The Wily castle felt a little short but a really solid game all around.

    Mega Man 11.
Liked it better than 10. Haven't tried the hard mode, but I've heard people suggest that it's why the castle seems short or too easy.

    Corpse Party (PSP):
I finally got an ending that's not mocking me in the face...

    Though I'm not sure...

Basically everybody who died are erased from history, and all my effort was for nothing as the curse is still going and there will be a new Sachiko.

Okay, I know they needed a way to ensure that more sequels to be made, but this is so cheap!

The game had an interesting story, but lots of annoying things. It really needed a fast-forward option because sitting through the same dialogue over and over is tedious and time wasting. The third chapter was idiotically stupid, the fifth chapter was brutally confusing, and the ending makes me feel that I achieved nothing.

    7/10

It’s fun but there is to much real life that boggs the game down.
