Sure, once could be enough especially when you consider the circumstances (the safety and well-being of his son). But again, there's only so much we can know about this situation. The OP has pointed out that moving would be difficult and he doesn't seem entirely sold on that option since he feels it's a nice enough area.
I'm sure without all the gunfire, the mountains in Afganistan are nice too. This may be an extreme comparison, but it's to try to make a point.
It's not even that extreme. The police think there are guys with guns and drugs next door. No fucking way would I allow a child of mine near that.
Well then we are no longer allowed to talk about drunk driving, cancer, heart disease, strokes, TB, or amything else. And what you bring up is my point.
Why am I even arguing with you? I've never even had a problem with you before (not even now). I mean, just a few weeks ago, I offered to hook you up with a Long Haul from Walmart.
We can have a healthy debate and still get along and do deals. Like the deals found in my sales thread! Carry on.
Who's arguing. Just having an in-depth debate. Please don't take it personally, just having a little fun on a boring Friday at work.
At least the OP wasn't near the end of greasing the weasel when the cops busted in. Bad enough as things sounded they would've been far worse if he was shuffing a chubby too. The cops might've thought it was a gun in his pocket rather than just being 'happy to see them'. Anyway, I'm sure if any dodgy characters were hanging out next door that this happening would've sent them scarpering, never to return. And I certainly wouldn't go after the cops either as some like to hold grudges and they have the power to make your life shitty. It's happened to me and it sucks.
Despite living in the middle of Nowheresville where hunting is a popular thing, shootings are extremely rare. That's my thought. The other guy's long gone I'm sure now anyway.
Some of you are putting way too much thought into this. This is absolutely an, albeit unfortunate, isolated incident. If there are damages to be legally collected, they should be. Otherwise, we should all be worrying ourselves silly about the impending danger of all things harmful to the health of our loved ones by just up and moving away from our communities if somone in your town just contracted the Swine Flu, or someone was killed by a drunk driver. If there is a guy next door to him that just so happened to at one point possess guns and drugs, he's the one most likely to move because he knows the block is "hot" now. Drug dealers aren't just going to stick around and wait for the cops to come back and bust their ass. This whole fiasco just saved the Drug dealer by giving him a heads up. No need to move on out of an otherwise decent area and stop bringing your son around because of it.
Sure. Regardless, my ex wife lives in the same apartment complex. I think that's more dangerous than some drug/firearm dealers. This. Thank you Molini. This is what I wanted to say, and you did it beautifully.
Truth of the matter is that dealers setup shop in in rich neighborhoods, poor neighborhoods and everything in between. Not too sure packing up and heading for the hills will solve any problems. This could happen to any one of us.
