Last night around 9:30, four cops broke in my door and grabbed me, threw me to the ground and handcuffed me. Apparently my apartment was targeted for drug and firearms trafficking, but they searched my apartment, nothing. Turns out they got the wrong guy, and meant to get the next door apartment.

So, now what? I've never been in trouble with the law, ever. Any advice? I contacted an attorney but I haven't heard back from him yet. What would you guys do?

Thanks in advance guys, this was probably the worst experience in my life.

Good thing you stashed the evidence before they got there. Wish I had a six cents like that.

damn i would definitely go after the cops for their screw up as they need to held accountable when they screw up, and id not be surprised if the guy they did want got away, no charges will be filed against you in thats what your worried about as the cops found nothing and made a mistake with serving the search warrant so what you have to decide is if you want to sue or not

Don't they need a warrant or something to bust in?

Don't do anything to the cops. You're wasting your time fantasizing about dollar signs. Suck it up.

And move to a new apartment that isn't next to dealers.

You didn't serve any jailtime nor were you names as a suspect they should replace anything they broke though.

Wow, that sucks, man. Glad you weren't hurt, but the cops should at least apologize and pay for anything they damaged.

If it was firearm and drug trafficking next to me, I'd be out that fucking night. Pack a suitcase and come back with a U-haul in the morning.

Were the cops complaining about having to go through all your TFs looking for drugs? Better check Prime's trailer, there could be an 'energon' stash in there.

I had to read this a half-dozen times before I translated it. Just for future reference, it's "sixth sense." As in one more than the five we traditionally recognize: vision, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.

Hell yes, it's that easy. How is it not?

Thanks for that info. I had a sixth sense that it didn't sound right when I wrote it.

I've got six pence, not six cents. It should last me all my life.

They had one for my apartment, but not *me.* They got the wrong apartment, clearly.

I just moved in, and in my small town, there really isn't any other place to live like that. Not really looking for money here, but I did contact my attorney for advice regardless.

You're right, it's not that easy.

I agree with this. They sure did treat me like a suspect though, but I understand that. The door and drywall is being replaced, completely.

Yeah, they did. I went to school with one of them. They were totally embarrassed.

LOL, this made me laugh, thanks. They did notice my Centurions display in my living though, thought it was neat. I told them I'm pretty much the 28 year old, non virgin, 40 year old virgin.

    Thanks, I needed that.

    It is.

A normal person knows within 10 minutes of looking if the complex is safe or not.

Seriously, move. I'm guessing guys with drugs and guns may not practice the best trigger discipline.

Well, I would definitely have an attorney help you out. The police made a huge mistake in busting into your apartment when it was the apartment next door that they were meant to raid. The police should at least rectify for their mistake by at least paying you for whatever damages they most likely have caused during the whole incident, such as breaking the door.

I just keep to myself. The complex looks safe enough, kids run around and play all day. People are friendly with each other, etc. I guess I'm not normal though, I dunno.

I'd love to, but I live in a tiny town. My options are severely limited.

Get the names of every cop who was there. Find out where they each live. Track their daily routines to find out when they're not home. Schedule dates and times to break their fucking doors in, and trash their homes.

I know all of that is senseless and too difficult to be worthwhile, but it'd actually be more justified than what they did to you.

This story seems rather fishy to me :inquisiti

Cops don't just enter the wrong apartment.

    They set a perimeter first.
