So with the Reissue coming I rinally got the nerve op to do something about my old Laser Prime. Here is step one.

(Note the waist is not chromed, Camera Flash, but the grill is)

I really like the chrome! How long did that take?

Not long, it was a can of spray chrome. Duller than vaccume metal but good enough and better than the blue that was there

Cool. Think it would spruce up chrome flaking on old G1's?

You would have to redo all of the chrome, as it does not match

I've got a Laser Prime I took apart awhile ago to do something similar. Now he sits in 3 different baggies waiting to be painted and assembled.

Looking good so far dude, next up do something to reduce all the grey all over the shoulders. That's what I'd do anyway.

I'd do the hitch mod I posted a while back too, so it can slide into his leg.

I can't find the thread, but here's how it goes:

Take apart the leg with the hitch in it, and you'll see the hitch could slide in and out, but there are a couple little stoppers that hinder it. Remove those, and you'll get some movement. For more movement, file down the end of the hitch part that is inside the leg so it can slide in farther. Don't worry about it falling inside or anything, once you get it apart, you'll see that can't happen.

I actually cut a tiny bit out of the back leg panel too, so when it slides in, I can still get a figernail in there to pull it out.

It really cleans up the profile of the leg IMO.

Very nice work so far, Shin. The red on the upper body looks very clean and smooth; excellent job on the grill and waist as well. Are you planning on painting the legs blue on this guy?

Still debating that, if I can find a blue spray-paint in the right shade in the same brand as the red I will. I am using Car Paint.
