Anyone know where I could get an affordable replacement laptop screen for a dell inspiron? My screen is cracked down half the monitor and I'm a bit crunched on money.

Replacing the screen on a laptop often costs more than the system is worth if you're talking about an older machine.

it's not that old, I've had it for close to 2 years. It was a freak thing that caused the screen to crack.

    eBay. About $100.00

I'd recommend replacing the invertor board as well. About $20.00

It's something you could do yourself. follow the instruction guides posted on the 'net.

Process isn't that hard. if it's under 2 years, you may check your Dell warranty. I've done several on Inspirons and Latitudes. Just take your time and be methodical. Don't rush, don't force things.

But Sideways is right. if you're shopping for a new screen, just save time and look at a new laptop. you CAN get used parts on ebay and the such, but you're at the mercy of the seller and their quality/honesty.
